Didn't have any work to speak of today... but still managed to be productive....
Last week my SUV finally got the error again that I've been watching for since March when the trouble began. I called and setup an appointment to get the problem resolved and also found out there was another recall for the electronics in the power steering. So... got both taken care of today
The other thing... I got my Dewalt 20v string trimmer and blower in today... yee haw...
It was still about 93° by the time I got home.... but I still went out and did a little trimming in the drive and then tried out the blower. This was on some crab grass that had grown up between the cars in the drive... so not a bad test. I'm not quite used to using a bump trimmer yet and I let the string get too short and it went inside the reel... my bad there. Opened the reel up and the string sprung out everywhere... again my bad. I'll get the hang of those in short order I'm sure.
Compared to my other trimmer... this one whizzes
through the tougher grass like it's no one's business. I should test it on low speed next time just to see if I can save a little battery life. I didn't really pay any attention to the noise level ( certainly quieter than the gas models still )... so I'm not sure which if either is louder.
The blower works pretty well... but my corded one has a more concentrated tube so seems to be stronger but the newer one blows in a wider area so it's probably a wash in the end. I certainly like being cordless and this one is still plenty strong for my needs. The noise level is quieter than my corded model but it's also a higher pitch sound which my ears are a little more sensitive too.
Working around the cars with the new ones vs the old ones is so much better... just this alone will make clearing up things faster since I won't need to fight with a cord on either the trimmer or blower.
