Hey RD did you polarize anything yet

Not other than to play with it some... but it was only to slightly darken the shot and to provide more contrast.

I'm waiting for a rainbow for the main thing I was getting it for. It'd be handy to get rid or or decrease reflections of course... but usually the reflections I see, like on a pond or lake, help with the shot...

I had planned to go out this evening and use my other filter to decrease the street light pollution for a Milky Way shot. The exGF and her hubby were planning to come along so I could help instruct her on doing the same... but they were arguing and her back was also giving her fits... We're suppose to have another good chance tomorrow night and I'll go then ( weather permitting ), whether they come or not.

Everything sort of worked against me on shooting something this weekend it seems. Normally, I'd go to the lake for the shot... but it's a holiday weekend and will have a ton of folks out there. We also had the first OU football game... which will have added to the traffic. If tomorrow happens, I've got an alternate site that I got permission to go to... one of my clients lives a few miles south of the lake... and the field south of his place should give a pretty clear shot of the southern sky I think.

Crossing my fingers... :)

I know it's "not you" on that... just venting a little

I know...but now that things aren't hectic with the change over I think it would be good to bring your concerns up - I don't have the keys to that car so I can't help you.

An IR satellite pic of the NE... looks as if it's moving out to sea now.

Not quite yet. Models show it doing a bit of a loop westward again, then returning to current path. BUT...high pressure above us looks like it will force it to stall, for two or three days possibly, just south of eastern LI.

That's actually a good thing when you are looking for it... Like trying to use a slow shutter speed to blur stuff like a waterfalls and it's just too bright ... and things.

I should probably try to measure it just to see how much it is... but I often take pics like I cook... by the "that looks about right" rule :D
