I was all excited for some music !

Here's ya one... ( may take a bit to start since my personal server isn't on a very fast connection )

Daryl Pock - The Wind

Just so others here know of the back story....

This was all wrote and played by one of my best friends that had past away a few years ago and who also got me started mixing live bands. He recorded all of the parts, but never mixed it down before he left us. Having been a live mix sound engineer for him and others, his wife asked if I'd mind mixing whatever he had completed down for her and the family so I did. All of the ones he finished are from single takes of each instrument of which I picked the best track I could to use in the final mix.

lol... Oh yes. I have a Squire Series 24 (semi hollow), Ibanez semi hollow, and a Yamaha acoustic/electric. Yamaha is fairly new. The hollows are around 10-15 years old.

If You have anything on line or uploadable we'd love to hear it!

It's one of my favorites of Daryl's as well...

Another friend of mine that has also now passed away also had two songs on the recorder that I also mixed down .... This time, I'm uncertain if he was the only one playing or if perhaps Daryl had also played an instrument... When I asked Mark about more details on that, he said it was so long ago that he didn't remember either.... Either way, this is one that never got a lead guitar added to it... but I like it anyway. In addition, Mark was a singer so this one has words with it...

Mark Johnson - Darkness into Day

Mark never really came up with a title for this one... so consider it my title for his song

Yeah, I was a bit vague in my question there. Nice collection there. Didn't know Squire did any hollow-bodies. Just had a look at some. Pretty nice. Is your's the Tele style?

I've got my eye on this right now, but I'm still kinda on the fence.

Good stuff there rd! Thank you for sharing. :)
seen this kid on Conan last night, i guess it was a re-air. I think i'm gonna check out more of his stuff

They've been playing this for about a year +/- on AltNation (SiriusXM), and I still love to hear it. I missed the young Scot lad first time on Conan, and naturally missed the repeat! Have you heard this one? I like it a lot:

Mine looks like this:
http://images.equipboard.com/uploads/item/image/34753/squier-series-24-starfire-xl.jpg?v=1463171091

It was one of the original market testers, before they started importing them in mass. An ex girlfriend got it for me. It was on the wall for just under $1000 and she put it on layaway. I had no idea. She had it 3 weeks later.

I had no idea that there were limited series versions of guitars. I had a guy at my old job that kept trying to buy it off of me. I'm not sure why. The pickups are the same (double duncan humbuckers) and it looks the same in the pics. Action is awesome though, and the sound is incredible.

I have a behringer acx1000 amp, with triple pedals. I plug in my pedalboard and can get a ton of sounds mixing the amp and the board.

I use a Lexicon Omega Pro to attach to my Mac when I record. I haven't tried it on my Macbook Pro though. When the iMac died (the one I did the review videos with), I got a Macbook Pro. Then I gave that one to my daughter for school, and got a new Macbook Pro about a year ago. So, most of my recording equipment is in the closet.

I have a nice Boss drum machine, and a Casio keyboard, so I can get pretty close to a full band sound. Need a bass though. Can't get that perfect bass sound electronically.

As for recorded stuff, I don't have anything from my old band anymore. The breakup was pretty bad, and much of it was my fault. I got in a fight with John (the lead guitarist). We kept arguing over everything. I told him I was done, and he was out. He laughed and told me that if he was leaving, the band was going with him. I laughed at him, and threw him out... then watched everyone follow him out. I learned humility pretty fast. Sean (the rhythm guitarist) came back 2 weeks later asking me to be the lead singer for his new band. I guess the band just ended up ending. I was still mad at Sean for walking out, so I didn't join. I've never played professionally again.

I still play for my baby boy (instant sleep time), and the wife (instant aphrodisiac). The kids like to listen when I pick up the guitar. I still write stuff, but it is mostly for me. I don't have the voice I used to. 10 years ago, it just started going. All of the years of smoking finally caught up with me. With vaping, it has improved, but it is nothing like it used to be.

Fascinating. Glad you shared that! I guess everybody has band "horror" stories. I haven't played out in years. Just for my own entertainment nowadays (and to occasionally make Aggie laugh:D). Plus, nobody wants to see an old fart get up on a stage (if I could even climb one:facepalm:). But it still does fill some kind of need, 'cause I love doing it.
Glad you're still playing.

I'd suggest that you don't let that stop you... just make sure you're using a multitrack recorder and keep the bass to it's own. Electronically altering a standard guitar to mimic a bass guitar isn't optimal... I know I had to deal with that issue when mixing down my friends music, most of which didn't have a real bass in it and it stands out to me every time I play one of the songs back... But using that method, he at least was still able to compose his music. Later, you can always go back through and redo the bass track replacing the one you used initially. Keep the juices flowing... use what you have available now so you don't miss something that you may be thinking of.
