Just entered this for the November Challenge on the home recording site. Challenge criteria was "Moments", more or less things that affected us in our lives...

I'd pre-liked this earlier and didn't listen to it until now... assuming it was safe to do so based on the past songs etc.

Glad I didn't forget to listen now that the headache has eased off a bit... :)

Here is a local band I know a member of that isn't together any longer... The sax player to be specific. It was his at his house that I captured the pic of the young 4 point buck a couple of weeks ago. He's in another band but I haven't gotten to go out and see them play yet.

Jmur... some technical suggestions

Listening to your last song... made me thing of something that may be of use to you. Specifically, I was noticing the room's reverb you are getting on your vocals. This may help reduce those a bit.

When I went out to help my friend to get his Wifi working in his practice room they'd built... I noticed how he did his sound deadening and was wondering if it was even sufficient to help. In each corner of the room where the walls meet the ceiling, he'd placed 2' squares of that 3" thick wavy foam... ie 3 pieces, one on each wall and one on the ceiling making 1/2 a cube in each corner so to speak. Then half way down each wall at the ceiling he placed 2 more... one on the wall and one on the ceiling itself in an L shape. He said that it made a ton of difference, enough so they weren't thinking of covering any where else on the walls.

I hope to get out and catch them at some point practicing just so I can hear how well it works myself... but it's a simple enough project and I do trust his judgement enough to not question it's effectiveness.

Good suggestions, but actually all the tracks were done by direct line-in, so room acoustics would be negligible. I did however add some reverb via a VST, dialed in at about midway setting ("small room"). Don't remember the exact settings, I'd have to look at the DAW later. Tried to be somewhere in the middle cause I didn't want it too dry or too wet. I think what may have affected it more was that I took two vocal tracks and panned them at about 65/35 and 35/65 left and right. That may have added too much "open" space. But your suggestions are well taken. Thanks!
