I'm about to head up to the folks place today... We're celebrating my Dad's 85th this year... :)

I'm not sure what's for lunch... but we do get cherry pie no matter what... and we get to repeat it again next month for my Mom ( probably strawberry cake of some kind I suspect )...

Yeah, I've been known to refer to the Sweetwater catalog as a bible!:D
The Alesis set isn't bad. I really thought I would need to be gentle with it, or I would have to live without features, but there's very little compromise for a sub $500 set. I got it for $299 with the drum throne and an extra set of Vic Firths at B&H. I have a BOSS drum machine that I never was good at using. This is much easier. Since it has MIDI output, I can connect it to the Macbook Pro via the Lexicon Omega, and record that way. I've not tried it yet. Still enjoy just banging on the thing.

The Series 24 Starfire is an original, before they mass produce them. I guess Fender makes some, send them around, and sees how they sell. I'm not really sure what the difference is, but I have friends that keep offering me a lot for it. I compared it to the mass produced one a couple years back, and I couldn't tell the difference. Somehow, people can tell though.

The Ibanez was traded for. It's not an expensive model (~$400), but I really love the action. The pickups are nice on it also. I don't know who makes them or what kind they are, since they are capped, but they sound really nice.

I either play acoustic or semi-hollow electrics, so I have the guitars I need. The acoustic is a Yamaha.

I may have to take Ag's up on the nap text... even if a bit late for it...

Sis brought all of the food ( except for the deep dish cherry pie Mom made ) for the lunch... The poppy seed chicken casserole was great ( and pretty easy from the sound of it... She also made a brownie peanut butter dessert for the other birthday we were celebrating ( my Niece's hubby turned 27 on the 3rd ) ... I think the brownie peanut butter thing just about did me in, hopefully I didn't go diabetic afterword... :D

Back to the poppy seed chicken...

1-2 lbs of chicken tenders... precook ( shredded or chopped )
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1 can of milk
8 oz of sour cream
2 cans of sliced water chestnuts
2 sleeves of Ritz crackers ( crumbled up )
2-4 tablespoons of butter/margarine
1 tablespoon of poppy seeds

Mix the cream of chicken soup, milk, sour cream and add the water chestnuts ... heat as you would a soup. Crumble up the Ritz crackers and add the butter to them. Layer some of the cracker mixture in the bottom of an 9x13 pyrex dish, then add the precooked chicken tenders. Pour the soup mixture over the chicken. Layer the last of the Ritz and butter over the top. Sprinkle the poppy seeds over the top. Cook at 350° for 45 minutes to an hour.

Looks as if my local forecast is almost the same as your's is suppose to be... the next few days, yours will be a couple of degree's higher ... but that's only a slight difference at best.

you gots you blamkets ready ?

Added a comforter to the bed the other day when we went below zero on the temps... :)

New TV show to check out... Emerald City ( 8pm Friday nights on NBC ) ... It's a harder, slightly darker version of Wizard of Oz where Dorthy may have magic and stuff. Toto may be a long lost cousin of Deeogie ...

I caught the pilot the other night.... and haven't decided if it's for me or not. It does have the potential to be a cool show though... they've just started it off kinda slow so far.
