If you need help with the codes let me know
I've got to get one... and for that to happen, it's going to have to be live apparently... the error ( which has happened twice now ) isn't saved to the ECU apparently. Still, I've got a pretty good suspect, just need it verified and if it's what I think, it's covered by a recall.
What happens is as I'm going down the road, suddenly the wrench light show on the dash and the car goes into a severe limp mode where about 5mph is as fast as it wants to go. Turning off the car for a short while clears the trouble and everything works fine after that. According to the research I've done, the wrench indicates a problem in one of 3 general areas... the computer ( as with any error code, you always have to consider it is a computer error as one possible culprit ), the
throttle body or something in the power line. Since 2009-2010 Escapes have a recall on the
throttle body for this type of problem, that is my number one suspect. Now I just have to monitor it while the error is happening to get what code is being
thrown.
