SSSSsooooo ten miles into the trip to the lake on the freeway the truck just shut off at 65mph!
Luckily we were able to get to the far right, put it in neutral and it started
The truck spit and sputtered and wont go over 40mph :grr:
Limped it all the way back home :(
Decided to leave it and the boat at home and load the car and go anyway :thumb:
Finally found a place offshore to fish without lots of people, figured it was fished out and wouldn't catch anything.
Spend hours and hours fishing and only caught one little catfish.
We had a good time at the lake just enjoying the time away from home....and work though! :)
Now to figure out the problem with the truck? :grr:

If you have an auto parts store that is pretty close to home ( Autozone, O'Reilly's etc )... they usually will let you use their OBDII scanner to find out which part may be the cause of the problem.

Since the scan codes will often just point you in a direction... once you know which direction to look at... Look it up on the internet to see what the possible causes can be since some codes can indicate several possible causes.

In addition... don't disconnect your battery until after you've got the code... otherwise it may loose the code and you won't know what it is until it happens again later ( if it's not a hard error that is constant ). In extreme cases... disconnecting the battery and letting it set for 15-30 minutes can sometimes reset the computer so you can continue driving normally... but as I mentioned, in these cases it may be a while before the fault happens again so it's best if you don't have to resort to that until after you have the error code first.

That will be the first place we start, hopefully we can determine ( internet ) the problem and I can fix it myself. My guess is 50/50?
Thank you for the info Redsok! :thumb:
