I like the UNIQ with respect to the ability to use eGo items (with the exception of the T2 darn it) and have them sit down in the recess surrounding the 510 connection.

I also like the light weight, and the positive button, as well as the ability to read the resistance of the attached coil.

However, having said that, I am not happy with the Battery Life I'm realizing from the UNIQ. I am a chain vaper, and I've considered that in my opinion. With a fresh 18650 in my Provari, either of the two Lava Tubes that I have, and in any of the three GRIPPERs that I have, I normally realize a battery life of about 6-8 hours of heavy vaping. With the Uniq I am only seeing a Battery Life of 3 hours.

In an attempt to determine if it is a problem with this particular Uniq, I placed a fully charged CGR18650CH battery in the Uniq this morning at 11:00. The Uniq has a 1.6 ml Stardust (with twist head) attached that measures 1.8 Ohms. I DID NOT fire the Uniq, but left it sitting on the workbench while I went to town and ran some errands today.

When I returned home at 4:00 PM, I checked the Uniq and found that it had dropped two bars on the little battery indicator without having been used. I then fired it two times taking about an 8 second vape, and it dropped another bar on the battery indicator.

QUESTION: Is anyone else experiencing realtively short battery life on the Uniq?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eric posted "I could yes, it's in the overall plan just have to find the $$$, the E1-V, so far, is not moving at all, so that's a tad worrying."

I'll order a few E1-Vs and replacement innards to get some off your shelf. I've had a leakage issue with the original E1s (sorry LD, I know it's one of your favorites), but I'll try some of the E1-Vs as they will sit very nice on top the Uniq, and they hold 2.0 ml.

Thanks in advance for any comments regarding the Uniq.

I haven't used mine enough to give a fair record of it but I will see if mine does the same.
That's kind of odd, where would the charge be going??

With the Uniq sitting idle, the only thing (in my opinion) that could drain the battery is the circuit board, which is constantly connected to the battery.

Two things that I didn't try (sorry, senior moment) is to insert a fresh battery and turn the unit OFF, and/or to insert a fresh battery and let it sit idle WITHOUT anything attached.

I'll try a fresh battery and turning it OFF tonight and report back in the morning.

UNIQ update

Fully charged battery (4.21 Volts) placed in my Uniq at 10 PM last night. Nothing attached to the Uniq. Display showed all 5 Battery Bars. Uniq turned OFF (with 5 clicks).

10 AM this morning (12 hours later) turned the Uniq ON (with 5 clicks) and the display showed 2 (of the 5) Battery Bars. Removed the battery and tested with a calibrated voltmeter and it reads 3.82 Volts.

Put the same Battery back in, same conditions as paragraph 1 (nothing attached and turned OFF) and will test again in 6 hours.

I do not know if this is normal for the Uniq, or if I just have one in which the circuit board has excessive drain on the Battery. If there is anyone out there that can put in a fresh battery and let the Uniq set idle (I know that not everyone has multiple devices to use) it might help determine if this is just the nature of the Uniq, or if I have a defective unit.

Again, thanks for any help/assistance in sorting this out.

Interesting! I was planning on getting one of these maybe but not with that kind of battery life!! I can put a fesh pair of 18350s in my V8 and only switch it off if I am in a meeting of an hour or more and when I am sleeping and I get a day and a half to two days battery life! The V8 would be perfect if it displayed the ohms of the carto/atty attached to it.

Did you ever think it could be the Batt itself ? I would first charge the Batt again to 4.21 full charge and leave the Batt sit by itself for a few hours and see if it is holding it's charge, might not be the Mod at all and that Batt is just not holding a charge. Just a thought :)

Kaleb,

I'm leaning towards a defective Uniq. I LOVE the Uniq. It's so nice to have a device that is "made" for the eGo stuff, and all other aspects of the Uniq are outstanding.

I really hesitated posting my problem here, as I did not want to discourage others from purchasing the Uniq, but this is the most read forum and I'm really looking for the answer to MY problem. Consider the fact that nobody else has posted anything regarding my problem, which if it is this unit, will be resolved.

Go for it! You'll love it.

I have performed three tests so far, and in each test I used a different fully charged CGR18650CH.

But thanks for the suggestion. It's appreciated.

sounds like at this point it's defective, I have no other explanation for it, so you can certainly send it back. Unfortunately right now I am out. I am waiting on another shipment but no tracking yet :(

Eric, I was never for a moment concerned about resolution, and apologize if I've caused any prospective buyer concern.

As I mentioned earlier, I am the lucky guy with an isolated incident, and better that it be me than someone that needs the Uniq as their sole VV device. Any time that we deal with electronics, there is going to be anomalies.

I'll head to the DV Site and request a return authorization (the info on where it needs to be shipped, etc.)

I am in no hurry for a replacement, as I have the two V8s and and three GRIPPERS that have become my current "stable" of devices.

No you didn't forget to hit submit, I did a PM and you answered me there. I typed that just after you left on Tuesday Morning, then PM'd you Tuesday nite because I was overly curious since it arrived today. They will most likely(just guessing) put pen clip caps out for these later to make a few extra $ and it will backfire. Like they put out black and stainless models of things, saturate the market by selling the crap out of them to the point where when they "Introduce" colored models nobody buys them, because they don't want to spend more $ on them or something newer comes out. In Stainless and Black.
If they'd take the chance and put all the colors out at once vendors would't be stuck putting their stock of "colors" on sale. Or the vendors just stick to black and stainless and the manufacturer is stuck with them, which in turn they raise their prices on the new stuff to recoup their losses.

Did I just go on a tangent? Crap, down from the soap box fool and go take a nap. God I HATE being Bi-polar. It's AWESOME!!!
