OMG kalebk07;9981096

That's really difficult, I literally ran from Ft. Worth TX back home to WA to escape the drugs. I couldn't stop even though I was pregnant. I honestly don't know what I would do without my 12 step program... And I just hate mentioning it here because I'm breaking the traditions by doing so. We're supposed to remain anonymous at the level of press radio and films and our general service office in NY has ruled that that tradition should include social media as well. In the same sense though I believe when a fellow alcoholic or addict reaches out for help our primary directive should overrule that. So here I am! Sweet heart any time you feel like you wanna pick up or just need to chat you can pm me and I'll do my best to try and get you hooked up with some men in your area! We always recommend that newcomers stick with the same sex unless that person is gay/lesbian because that way sex never gets in the way of recovery.

Never EVER let yourself be put in a sticky situation like that again! That's one of the reasons our 12 step programs work so well is because of the fellowship because when you get in sticky situations you can always pick up the phone

Honey if you're serious about not using and drinking you gotta put that first because without that recovery you won't have anything else ;)

If you want you can pm me and I'll give you my number and I'll see if I can find good meetings in your area... I know people that have been to meetings all over the world!

Thanks Ree AND everyone else!!!! Unfortunately AA is not for me. Im really involved in my church and God has been faithful and has kept me sober this long. I just had lunch with my friend who leads our Home Fellowship and I think he gets it that its too much of a temptation for me, but he wants me to talk to all the guys individually myself instead of him talking to them...that's fine, but the guy who went and got the beer is an alcoholic but "has a handle on his drinking now" and so I think him and I are going to .... heads because I am going to tell him straight up that I think he's playing with fire, you don't drink when you are an alcoholic PERIOD! I'm also going to point out that its a sin to cause your brother to stumble and its not ok.

Good Monday.

All you Floridians, please take care.

Kaleb, I find it more than odd that alcohol is being served at a church. The church covenant where I am a member states that on condition of membership, you will abstain from the use and sale of alcohol. I am very proud of you and Ree and George. I am behind you all the way. I understand that you are fighting a hard battle and you guys are winners.

We have sunshine today...looks like the rain is over for now. Hope everyone is enjoying your day. :)

I think the only reason they get around it is because it isn't on church property. Still though, its a church function!!!

Exactly. Are you commited to that church, Kaleb? By that, I mean are you open to checking out another church? I'm quite sure there are some fantastic churches in Spokane, with some great groups who would love to have you join them. The church we belong to here has a group for everything you can think of, several meet at the church, but most of the small groups meet in peoples homes.

The thing about a faith based group, is just that...it's based on yourFAITH that's the one thing where you all have common ground, I'm so confused and somewhat dismayed that anyone had the bright idea of getting beer/coolers for a fellowship meeting.

Sure there is gonna be someone who says that Jesus drank wine, but trust me, Jesus didn't drink wine for a buzz, I think that more relates to the possibility that much of the water back then had the potential to be either undrinkable or unavailable, and that wine was something that didn't easily spoil.

Sorry Kaleb. That really irks me.

Yes, I am very committed. I serve by running the light board at services and I am also on our help team. I really don't want to just pack up and change churches, I just want people to understand about alcoholism and that its a real disease!!! My dads friend who is one of the pastors and an addict himself is really upset that this happened so I think it will all be taken care of soon, and hopefully with minimal discomfort for me!

Ahhh perfect! That sheds a different light on it for me. You are very committed, and your willingness to serve there says a great deal about how you feel about being part of it. Absolutely stay where you are, seems to me that you are being led to make a change there, and that just gave me goosebumps! :)
