No!! That's was so beautiful. I did some wood burning of lettering on mods but with a template. You got serious skills girl...serious skills.
Thank you sweetheart :D I got my first wood burner when I was about 8 yrs old. I have been painting & drawing since then and I'm going to be 53 next week so there's alot of practice there :lol: But I haven't burned wood in quite a while now. This was a "wake-up Aggie and watch what you're doing" moment :laugh:

Don't worry, I started another one again already. Now I'm determined to complete this :smokie: I'll post a pic when the mods done

I love looking at your artwork Mama, incorrectly burned or not, it's inspiring for me. I'm starting to paint my very first floor cloth this week. It's been a long time since I did any freehand work of any sort, so I've been staring at my blank primed canvas for days now.
I know your cloth will be beautiful too ! :D We need pics when you done too please. I love looking at what other people do too :)

Welllllllllll, I'll use it regardless of how it turns out, but I'm not so sure on how great it will look. I think I was overly ambitious and took on a 6X9 canvas...eek....maybe should have done a simple sink mat first! LOL! Right now it's fastened to a tarp on the wall in the spare bedroom...all my paints and brushes standing by, waiting for me to get a little courage....I'm scared!!

:laugh: I'm sittin here werking on a piece 3" x 2" and you're doing a 6' x 9' rug ?? :laugh::laugh::laugh:
I've never done one of those floor thangs. But I have seen some gorgeous ones before. One I did like was made like a patch work quilt. So there were several smaller paintings instead of one big one. It looked great. Maybe you can try that ? :blink:

LOL! I should have tried a 3" X 2" first! At least I didn't get the 12' X 15' one! I really wanted to do a room sized rug, but that wouldn't have fit on the wall to paint--I started out with my 6X9 on the floor, but there wasn't going to be enough room to walk around it to work on it, and I couldn't imagine myself crouching down and killing my back to paint on it for very long, so I put it up on the wall.

Oh yeah, I like those that are divided up into smaller squares with something different in each one! I do have my heart set on my design already though, I'm going to do a Tree of Life. I just need to take my time, there's no hurry to get it done. I want to put my base color on and then maybe use chalk to sketch out the tree at least, then later filling it in with stuff will be sorta spontaneous. After the old guy goes back to work on Tuesday, I'll get started, right now while he's off, he's stifling my creative juice flow. lol

:laugh: Yup you sure picked a good subject :laugh: A tree of Life will be bootifuls Zooker !! Also gonna take you ferevers ! Putting it on the wall was the best thing you could do. You can werk on it and just walk away and not have to pick everything up every time. That was a good idea. I use a white colored pencil or a sewing marking pencil (white) when I have to sketch in something on dark surface or cloth cuz you can just wipe it off with your finger if you gotta change something. Wish I lived closer cuz I'd love to help and we could laughs and coffees :D

I would love that, gosh we couldn't live any further apart than we do and remain in the U.S. huh? Ohhhhhhh I wonder if I could snag one of those sewing marking pencils at Walgreen's or something nearby, I do want something I can wipe off, that's why I was thinking chalk...I might have a white colored pencil in my sons 3 million year old school supply crate, glad I saved that stuff, I'll have a look through it, thanks!

Yeah, I should tack the date to the wall when I begin, then as I complete each year of work on it, I can celebrate with a new calendar. Oh I could journal on the calendar...."dear diary, today I stenciled a leaf, painted a tuft of grass, and attempted to simulate tree bark."
