I actually wash the eVods themselves with dish soap and warm water :) I clean the coil heads with vodka or pure grain alcohol (PGA). Some flavors linger in the wicks, so I always try to use the same juice or a similar flavor juice. If you rebuild the heads, it is much easier to just change out the wicks.

Is rubbing alcohol good for cleaning the coil heads or should I use grain alcohol? Where would I buy pure grain alcohol from?

Never use rubbing alcohol always use something that is appropriate for consumption. I actually use my husband's rum but most people that can't get pure grain just use vodka.

Don't ask Stoney! I hear he uses PGA to rub the inside of his neck. :p

Then again, what do I know. I used the Julia Child method of vape gear cleaning, you know:
"A little in the clearo, a little for the clearo cleaner."

Good evening DV'ers, how is everybody doing tonight? I have a questions to the veteran e-cigarette smokers here. I have quite a few eGo CE4+ Clearomizers and eGo V2 Stardust Clearomizers and EGO Clearomizer (CE5). I have noticed that they leak eliquid when I fill them. I always fill them to the top of the lines. Is this normal or should I throw them out?

I quit using those because they always leaked on me and were a royal pain! I've gone to the eVods, they're inexpensive and have only leaked once when the weather was in the 90° range and their performance has been awesome!

I soak my coils for about an hour then blow them out really good and rinse them with really hot tap water (I have well water so no weird chemicals). I got a few eVods and threw my old things away and gave alot of my old batteries away to friends and family to get them started. My niece loved the T3 tanks I gave her till I got her an eVod kit and now the eVod is all she uses too. I swear I don't touch the old clearo's anymore lol

Would using distilled water be good for rinsing my evod coils with. Where I live the tap water is gross, too much of a chlorine smell. To give you an idea how bad our tap water is, I put some in my cat's water dish. She sniffed it and walked away...fast. So we give her bottled water, we drink bottled water as well. What is it with water treatment facilities and adding so much bloody chlorine to the water. We even tried using a Brita water filter, you could still taste and smell the chlorine

Do they sell grain alcohol in Canada? When I'm using the alcohol can I reuse the alcohol that I soaked the coils in?

I cannot answer whether it is available in Canada.

I do not reuse the Everclear after soaking coils. I only use enough to cover the coils in a shallow dish, and I'm on the first quart that I bought over a year ago.

I so not know if it will pick up the flavor of the coils.

According to a fellow moderator who is Canadian, Everclear is non-existent in Canada, and hasn't seen any PGA either. You'll do find w/cheap vodka. :)

Good morning DV :) It's hump day :D

Trooper, Rhee has given you some good advice. Cheap vodka is fine for soaking coils, since you just need the alcohol to dilute/dissolve the remnants of juice left behind. I personally soak the coils in old prescription bottles so that less vodka is used, and I can swirl it occasionally during the soaking period. I pour enough vodka in the container to cover the coil head and then add a bit more; I bought a litre bottle of vodka a few months ago and still have well over half left (so it only takes small amounts to clean coil heads). I don't typically rinse with water after the soak, but if you do any bottled water would work if you don't like the quality of your tap water. It is also my understanding that pure grain alcohol is not available in Canada. I don't reuse the vodka, since it contains dissolved juice in solution. And...once your coils are dry, you can dry burn them for further cleaning before you install them.

The question of keeping leaking clearos depends on whether you want to keep them for parts. I keep them to rob parts if they might be useful, otherwise I toss them. I wouldn't use leaky clearos myself. :)

Cnew, I'm not drinking the PGA or rubbing the inside of my neck with it

The "PGA" that is frequently referenced can be bought at the Liquor Store.

Ask for EVERCLEAR

RodeoGeorge

Not in Washington state I was told it's illegal for the stores to sell anything higher than 80 proof. PGA is illegal here. The closest you can get here is everclear or if you have a friend who makes moonshine lol. We are thinking of making a trip across the border to Oregon.
