Good morning friends. Sorry I've been sort of MIA lately, it's been a busy week. I'm so glad your hand isn't fractured Zooker!!! My friend fractured his jaw playing football and now he has it wired shut for 4 to 6 weeks. Ouch!

I hope every one has a great weekend!!! BIRTHDAY WISHES GOING OUT TO MM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is still a ECF member i am missing (pounder). I arrived and a few weeks later he is gone =\ I hope he is doing well. If its a CPU problem, i could mail a replacement, or?? I am taking my sister up north to Santa Maria for the weekend. My mother lives up there. She is going to stay with moms, and try and stay out of CO. I am also going back to work monday, lite duty once more. Knee is getting stronger (insert rocky movie theme here) DV'ers have an awesome day. DV has some great new devices!! Eric just seems to make the right choices on gear, plus the best prices around.

Happy Saturday DV'ers I hope everyone has an awesome and safe weekend.
I have another update about my car accident. My wife has a concussion and whiplash from the car accident. I myself has strained back muscles, not to mention thanks to the accident my back conditions I currently have (Degenerative Disc Disease and Lumbar Spinal Stenosis have been aggravated. My mother in law has an injured shoulder and collar bone from the accident.
The only thing that sucks is that my insurance company is still waiting to hear from the woman who caused the accident to determine liability. So for right now the deductible ($500) has been subtracted from my settlement. My insurance rep said that if they don't hear from her by next week, they're going to get the police involved to go after her. Plus if she doesn't take responsibility for the accident it will go on her drivers license record and she will never get car insurance again. I forgot to mention the day of the accident I was outside of the police station having a cigarette.
I started smoking again after the car accident, after this last pack I am going to start using my e-cigarettes again. I told my doctor about starting smoking again. She said it was due to stress about the accident. She wasn't happy about it but she said it was better than drinking alcohol. The woman's husband was there, he came outside of the station walking to his car. He looked at me giving me a nasty look clenching his fists trying to intimidate me.
I am going to write my member of the house of commons, the Canadian version of Congress in the USA. I'm going to ask him if the Government of Canada can raise the fine for talking on a cellphone while driving from $155 to $1000. I told the police officer who wrote the accident report about doing that, he said that is a great idea because the current fine is a joke. People are still talking or texting on a cellphone while driving. They should make an example out of this woman saying to the general public this is what happens when you talk on a phone while driving.
On a positive note my brother in law wants to help us buy another car. He feels bad that we got shafted by that woman who caused the car accident. I thought that we would have to get a bank loan to make sure we had enough to buy a good used car.
Has anyone here heard of Carfax? I heard that you can use it to find out about the history of a car. Is it worth using and buying the reports?

Trooper OMG I think I'd have to hurt someone! I hope everything turns out ok and for goodness sake take care of those backs! I know all about the stenosis stuff... I just got sent to another back specialist and it looks like my Degenerative scoliosis is a little worse but not what's causing all my pain so nothing they can do to fix me... My doctor is just going to have to let me get on with my life!

Trooper, I'm sorry to hear that the accident has caused more pain and damage than initially thought.
Carfax has merits, but I would suggest getting a report from more than one car history reporting company. They don't all have the same information, so you may get different results from each company. It was reported on national news in the US last month that many cars damaged by Superstorm Sandy on the east coast have been illegally filtered back into the used car market. Be sure to have a mechanic check for salt water damage and mechanical flaws before you buy a used car. HTH

Some or most of the car dealers down here that sell 'Certified" used cars will have the Carfaix information available to you so you won't have to buy the report on each car you're interested in. I dunno about car places up there. Yes, make sure you have what ever car you choose checked out by a mechanic no matter what. You've been thru enough right now, you don't need any bills for fixing a 'new' car too
