Hey Eric, is there any way that I can buy some extra drip tips for the CE3's? Those little flexible rubber ones that come with it? My husband and I are both using the CE3's, but since it only came with one tip, I had to try to fit one of my other drip tips into the tube for him and it was kind of tight to get it in there, not sure but I think it's also causing the leaking issues he's having with it. I've been using mine for days and days with no problem, this is his 2nd day with it, and he's a peeved off mess about it---lol and not lol---more like grrrrrrr for me!:p

I've been using these with my CE3s and they've been working great with no leaks:
Anodized Flat Drip Tip - Black

And Eric has other colors of that same style too.

Listen up, gang. I want to tell you something good about Eric.

First of all, I think it is awesome that Eric tries all the latest and greatest stuff that we all want to buy, being that a lot of us are new-vaping-stuff-junkies. Secondly, some of that stuff is not tried and true, but I feel fine buying it, because I am confident that if it doesn't work right, Eric will do something about it.

1. I bought an Apollo tank. It crapped out the second day. I emailed Eric, and he said he would send a new head for it in my next order.

2. I bought an Ovale V8. A battery spring fell out. I emailed Eric, and he said he would send a whole new spring mechanism to me out of another Ovale that broke.

My next order, I got both fixes. Not only that, but after I put the new battery spring in, I used Eric's technique of the brush-on electrical tape on the insides of that Ovale. It is now Sandy-proof. I think I could flush it down the toilet, fish it out, then bake it in the microwave and it would still be fine. Well, okay, that's an exaggeration. But the Ovale is great now. Much more durable than it was, considering the little tiny wires they use. It looks like it will last a long time now.

The replacement head for my Apollo Tank:
The old one looked fine when I took it out. But when I put the new one in, no more yukky burnt taste. As long as I remember to tip it every few hits, it is awesome.

And so is Eric.

+1 for Eric being awesome!!!

Hey LD, have you tried one of these yet?

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-smoktech-vivi-tank-rebuildable-atomizer.html

Looks like a very inexpensive RBA Tank setup considering how much the usual ones are...and this I've seen for around $12-15.

I'm wondering about build quality though. If I buy something designed to be rebuildable, it kinda needs to be durable or it rather defeats the purpose eh?

Because this uses regular silica wick, I do not actually see any difference myself from any other current "tank", it's a DIY tank, where with a Vivi Nova for example, you just unscrew the top, unscrew to coil head and screw on another, this one is much more hands on and one reason I have wanted to shy away from it. a true genesis clone would use mesh not wick...

this, to me, seems like a sheep in wolfs clothing.

(in my opinion) :)

Packaged arrived from Smoktech today. I hope it's still there when I get home. :)

I am not sure the attraction to these is the stock performance, but the modification possibilities. Using steel mesh, ceramic, and other style wicks, and/or any style wire you want, has it's benefits. Also, at the low cost, it allows people who can't afford to try a $100 rebuildable, the ability to expand their knowledge, and try their hand at modding.

But, they could suck, or rock out-of-the box. I will let you know soon. :)

Now, check your email!

Yeah, it's not a true Genesis type as it's wick/wire, but from what I've read people are modding it with mesh too. It's Smoketech trying to get into the DIY market I guess.

Also. For you guys that have the viva nova. I found that after rebuilding it with a new wick and coil it work great. Make sure the coil is not to tight on the wick. Also go 2.3 ohms with 4 raps with wire. Also I put in a 400 x 400 as mesh wick rather then the silica wick.

LOL, I'll be waiting to hear what ya think. I have until the 1st to decide on an atty device. They already have co-op's going on for the ViviTankRBA...dang peeps are quick!

The RAtank looks pretty sweet though....dang-nabbit. For $60 it'd better be.

SO many options...for that same $60, I could get a Phoenix and some other stuff.

I think it's smoktech trying to subvert the market or even confuse it. If/when they offer mesh, then I'd agree with you, but they want repeat sales (as do I obviously) and if someone found a perfect setup, why buy any more...

If LD says they are good, I'll get them. I trust his judgement.

By the way our guy Chopper has his own mod (two actually) and it's really nice. I like it a lot, it has mesh etc... Chopper if you are reading this, go ahead and post a link if you want.

I've been a fan of the Defcon, and that is in that price range. Chopper does some great work, and it is no exception.

I got in on the coop for the Fatty V2. :)

How did you do that? I swear this wasn't here when I quoted this, but there aren't any edit tags on your post. Wow, I'm losing it!

Doubt that I want one. But, there is a huge thread in the modding forum for people using cotton and bamboo wicks that this would likely appeal to. Been meaning to try this out myself, but will use the Thor or Viva and just change the wick.

Perhaps OT, but has anyone compiled a list of Ovale error codes yet?

What I've seen and compared to what fixes it is:

Ch = Check connection (Usually a short somewhere, or a flooded or loose connection)

Lo = Low battery warning (I always meter the batts when replacing 'em, it seems to hit at about 3.4-3.3v )

I haven't seen any other codes or any I couldn't fix.

Initial reaction with stock setup... wait for more testing. I am having an issue getting 50/50 to wick. Now, I haven't played too much with it yet, though.

I've rebuilt it with a cotton wick, and it is hitting pretty nice. The stock coil on my first unit wasn't anything special, but the construction is good, and it is pretty easy to rebuild. Eric, I will get with you on cam tomorrow, and give you a walk-trough.

No offense, but cotton? No. The RBA guys will eat it for lunch. Do they use cotton on Genesis?

Do a mesh coil. Toothpick should do...mesh. I can get a wick RBA for $9. That, may also be mesh-able.

Simple put, why shouldn't I buy a Phoenix RBA atty. I watched ALL his vid. Even I could roll mesh on that. Mesh is just a nicer, more elegant atty, that does not taste like .... ;-)

I hate most of my atty in device thangs. They suck compared to an actual atty. I also seldom leave the house and change flavors often, thus tanks are kinda lame.

Mebbe I should just get a BF.

I have seen one site that has them in stock and taking orders today, it is SS and has a built on SS John-Boy style drip tip for $30.00. Another site should have them in few days no price on theirs yet. The two I have seen should take SS mesh problem even if it needs a little modding it would be very minimal. Maybe bore the wick hole a bit larger and add a small hole in the tube in front of the wick for better air flow.
