Stoneface can you tell us about the noob class and what ya learned?
Well, there was the the legal issues class with yvilla, which was very interesting. She is one of the CASAA co-founders. She went through the regulation/legislation history of e-cigs from 2006 to present. She also talked a bit about the research in the field. Next up was the beginner's class with Spike of NVC. It was very basic, explaining the differences between cartos and attys, etc. How to inhale vapor. The real basics. I didn't really need it, I took a friend I'm converting. Oh, but she did cover dripping and gave us a 510 atty:) But, you never know what you might learn from those with more experience. The next class was coils and wicks, led by a guy from OKC Vapes (name escapes me!). He wasn't as organized as the previous speakers, but with some prompting questions, he was very informative. You could tell that he was a guy who does this every day and just knows everything, so it's not easy for him to stoop to my level (so to speak). The next class was RBA class with Zen from House of Hybrids. Amazing! I have done so much reading about these things that made it seem so complicated. It is a completely different experience to have someone in front of you show you how to do things AND being able to ask questions as it happens. Makes all the difference in the world - I'll be tinkering with that hopefully on Sunday (after Vapefest ends). The next class was juice, which I skipped so that I could spend some more time with Zen...and he gave us a sheet of SS mesh and a bit of Kanthal! The last class was battery safety class with Matt from e-pipe mods. I didn't learn anything new, but I think I've read every thread on that forum :)
All in all, it was hours of classes but I'm glad that I went to them. I've read enough on this forum to know most of it, but it's always good to get a little refresher from anyone who knows more than I do. I did a bit of looking around at the vendors tables, but didn't buy anything. I did meet rnoserious, and James and Jesse from MBV. I learned that Jesse is the mixmaster who came up with some of my favorite flavors from MBV, so I gushed at him for a second. I plan to go back tomorrow and really take in what the vendor tables had to offer and take more time absorbing it all. Sorry for the long post, but you asked for it. And, so sorry that Eric wasn't able to be there - it would have been great to shake his hand!

Sounds like a great time. Glad ya went...wish I could've! We're having a big one here in North Texas at the end of August. Hopefully they'll do some classes too!
Yes, it was great. I didn't know what to expect, which in the end didn't matter since I literally spent hours in one room. Our NY Vapefest is smaller than I thought it would be - the site had said they would be on more than one floor in the hotel but it was contained in one large room except for the conference room used for the noob classes. I'm guessing yours will be bigger, because everything is bigger in Texas! :)

ETA: I would recommend classes, even if you don't think you need them. It can be a refresher, or an unexpected tip that can benefit.

Wow! How cool is that?! Someday I hope my city will grow to embrace vaping too...I would love an opportunity to attend an event like that. Thanks for your post!

You're welcome. You can be jealous of my Vapefest, and I'll be jealous that you're close to MBV. James said that they will be moving to a all-new facility soon, and I think they're adding a retail shop and maybe a lounge.

Edit: Come to NY for the next Vapefest! It's a great town to visit. Vapefest is happening on Long Island this year, I don't know if that is where they always hold it but it is a short train ride into Manhattan. You could sight see, see a Broadway show, eat some great food AND get all the vaping you can handle for 2 days! Maybe we can convince Eric to come to the next one too.
