C'mon man, heal already! :)
Not anywhere near Whidbey Island, that's maybe 3 or 4 hours away from here. I didn't hear about the slide, will have to watch the news tonight and see!
It's pretty huge! Interesting that there are giant sinkholes in FL and landslides in WA. We're falling apart at both ends.

You aren't close to the sinkholes, are you?!
The ones you're seeing on the news that killed that guy are down state farther then me. BUT they happen all over this sand/limestone bar they call the state of florida. About 16 miles from me the year I moved here there was a well drilling truck at a new home construction that got taken down when they strted to drill the peoples well. They had to get a crane to reach over and pull the truck back to the surface  It's kinda skeery. The underground geology make up of florida is kinda like an old bone with severe ostioporosus (sp) there's a mere skeleton of support that surrounds the aquafer down here that constantly changes. A sink can appear any where at any time here

That is just not good. I hope your home stays safe. I would say that you should move, but I live in NY, the world's most attractive terrorist target.

 I grew up in new england, I know it's expensive too  I came here by a mistake and can't afford to move out. So, I'm stuck here for now. I never realized all the different elements of the "Great state of FLORIDA" had that totally sucked until after the move here was done or I'd never have come here believe me.

I couldn't live there just because of the heat. But I looooove visiting the keys (Big Pine Key is awesome, and right in the middle).

I have actually thought about that Zooker. When my husband drove over the road trucking, the places he breathed the best where up there and New Mexico believe it or not. :)

I do believe it. My husband's family moved here from California when he was little, he had asthma and Washington was highly recommended.

yes, we lived in DFW for 10 yrs before moving to the land of fruits and nuts (SoCAL) for work. North TX has tornadoes and hail and crazy fun storms and awesome people. My best friends are still all in DFW. Loved everything but the hot summers (and hot Spring and hot Autumns:). Still, would live there again. Great cost of living, huge homes for your money and nice people. Miss it still.
