Unfortunately he's the only one who teaches the class. He announced to the class today that I should have graduated 8 years ago, yes I started in 2005 but life gets crazy sometimes (I went to drug and alcohol treatment) and that was totally uncalled for! He'll do anything for a laugh. He's like 50, has bleach blonde hair and drives a convertible. Mid life crisis anyone?!

The good news is that you are at mid-term now, right? Maybe it will be over sooner than you think with this professor. There are many students who do not graduate in 4 years these days. Keep working on it and you'll get there.

This is the only class I have left for my degree! I already took it and failed, nobody told me I wouldn't learn anything if I went to class high everyday!

OK, so it's the last class and you're half done with it (and this degree). There is light at the end of the tunnel. Go into the light!
Just do what it takes to get through this, don't look back into the past and disregard the professor's obvious impropriety. Soon enough you won't have to deal with him anymore.

We are actually on a quarter system and this quarter just started so... 10 weeks! a friend of mine tonight said to me "while that was totally inappropriate for him to say that, he doesn't know you now that you are clean and sober, he just remembers the old you who came to class high every day, that's the Kaleb he doesn't like, this is your chance to prove to him that people can change!" That's exactly what I'm going to do!

Sounds like a good way to handle it. I was on the quarter system for part of my college career. I didn't like it much, but it's not as if you have a choice.

You got this Kaleb!! You've got the right attitude too, don't stoop to the prof's level. Just continue to work hard toward your goal, it'll be over before you know it and you'll be moving on to a new chapter in your life with a new degree. I will say though, I don't think much of his professional etiquette, he should be lifting you up, not bringing you down. Obviously he's not happy in his own life if it's so important to him to ridicule you.

Half way threw the week.. Stoneface, i do like your support. I needed that last night when i ejected a 19yr old boy,from my 17yr old daughters room. kalebk07, sober and recovering.. is the only way to fly =O I have many many yrs in NA. Some people will allways test you, its just life. At times i feel so down and low, but some one up there never gives me more then i can handle. Have a great day!!

Good morning!

We all need a little support from time to time. I fully believe that the Karma Wheel never stops turning, and try to keep that in mind..."Do unto others" and all that. I also remember having one difficult and inappropriate professor when I was in college as well. I rarely think of him anymore, but will be randomly reminded of him (like when KalebK was talking last night). There are always people who test you, but the good news is that I've developed some avoidance tactics IRL. They are handy when you can implement them.
Crss, that sounds rough. I don't know what I would do in that situation. I hope that it all works out and she stays safe.

Or maybes I need restraints instead, which eber comes first. Cuz I needs to go to dat gubment and kick me some patooties up dere !! Medicare had dissolved one of their Advantage Plans with their insurance......OURS....... WITHOUT... notifying us they were gonna do it. Spent majority of day on phone getting info and resigning up with another one. Meanwhile back at da Aggie-rancho-Pooro, we now don't have very good coberage with da basic shet and it gonna cost more moneys fer meds for at least a month. Pharmacy won't refill meds until 2morrow when I go there wiff info and den the co-pay is 100 bucks instead of da normal one.

Take you time getting dem ProTanks in Eric cuz I won't be ables to gets nothing til another month comes. Damm it !

Oh that does not sound good at all. This is one of those times where I feel useless to help in any way, what can I say to make this any better? I do hope that you will be fully covered very soon and still have enough dough left over for some bananas. Maybe you'll buy a winning lottery ticket

Thanks Sonics Yes it is wrong, and they had no excuses for why they didn't tell me either. I am very upset cuz gotta start a new with oxygen suppliers and all dat other crap. A freakin hassle. They said they'd cover what expenses there was for that stuff after they stopped insuring it thru our plan after I freaked out on the phone. But it just sucks ! And when ya gotta budget every dime every month I hate surprises like that.
