Oyyyyyyyy! I'm not even kidding you when I say that in the last hour or so, the temp and the humidity have raised, I am so friggin' sweaty and sticky right now...I'm trying to assemble my husbands new inversion table, and I'm completely distracted by how uncomfortable it is in here. I have been trying to resist putting the air conditioners in the windows, trying to keep the electric bill low while I'm off work for the summer, but I am slowly losing resistance. Ucky.

Shwew! Assembly completed, as well as dinner! Omigosh thank God for icy cold watermelon! YUMMMMMMM!! The humidity is definitely lessened quite a bit, and there's a breeze blowing, it should cool down nicely in here before too long. One more day without the AC Stoney!! Ha! I wonder if I can make it through the heat wave....I dunno

Yeah, you're right. I gotta face up to the fact that it's going to get hotter than hades in here, and I'm going to be looking at that fan like it's the devil and wish that I had Frosty the Snowman sitting in the window blowing his icy goodness throughout the place. Prolly put the AC's in tomorrow, the ol' man has been home sick since Tuesday with Tonsilllitis, and just this evening is starting to feel better, I think I can get him to help me lift them tomorrow~~all I need is a boost to get them in the window, I've got the rest of the process fine tuned and can have the house cooling in a matter of minutes after that. Oh crap I need duct tape! Duct tape is my AC window sealer secret weapon.

You make me giggle :)
Sorry to hear about your husband's tonsilitis. I've never had it, but I always wanted it as a kid to binge on some ice cream. At least he's feeling better :thumb:

Haha, I always thought the same thing as a kid--especially after that episode of the Brady Bunch where both Carol and Cindy had their tonsils out! I guess nowdays, it's rare they remove tonsils. So he got a big whopping prescription antibiotic, 10 days worth, 3 times a day...I'm so glad he's starting to feel better--I like to think I'm a good nurse, but he is a terrible patient! You know what's really bad, the first day he stayed home, he wanted to go to the doctor, and I was like "oh man-up dude, you haven't been sick in so long, it can't be that bad"...and so he didn't go to the doctor. The next morning, it was me dragging him in to be seen, and when he came out and said it was tonsillitis, I sure felt like a big steamin' pile of poo.

Since then, I've been a hand washing maniac, and spraying Lysol on everything he has touched, I have used my neti pot 4 times since yesterday morning, doing everything I can to not catch it since it's contagious. He should no longer be contagious by tomorrow though, they said 48 hours after the antibiotics he won't have the cooties anymore.

Zooker, you can come visit me! I am freezing in our house! I guess it's better than sweating though! I can just layer clothing! Hope hubby is feeling better, soon, and that you're able to get the AC's put in!

Stoneface, I always wished I could get mine taken out as a kid, myself, just for the ice cream! I envied my friends that had theirs taken out! Although, I have an adult friend that just had them taken out and she said ice cream didn't help at all!

I'm sure he forgives you, but I hope he looks at you every once in awhile and says "I told you so.":D (even if he does have cooties)Please be careful with the neti pot...use distilled water for your saline mix. There are several cases on record of brain infections from neti pot use.

I had tonsillitis as a kid then as a teenager but never got mine out.

I had chickenpox when I was 17 and nearly had to be hospitalized because I ran such a high temperature.

Omigosh chickenpox was the worst thing ever! My older sister got them first, then my younger brother...they were better and back to school by the time I got them, and then whammo...I had a terrible case of them. My mom actually taped socks over my hands at night to try and keep me from scratching. She also made a sign that said CHICKEN POX (and I think the date?) and made me hold the sign while she took a picture. I think I was around 10 years old.

I take it back Mono was the worst thing ever. I never had tonsillitis, but I was lucky enough to contract Mono when I was 14 years old. I actually thought I might die, those fears compounded by the fact that my mom was a nurse, and was all over me the entire time I was sick...worried that my spleen would burst....oyyyyyyyy.

Gosh, he's not said one "I told you so" !! I totally would have been saying it to him, LOL!! Yep, I'm careful with the neti pot, not distilled water, but boiled, then cooled before using. Oh, side note: Ice cream is great for pretty much everything.

Zooker, I would not make anyone go outside. Just my hubby that still smokes analogs...lol.

Stoneface, I would want some ice cream and some pretty strong pain meds! LOL!

Ree, that is awful! I had chickenpox when I was much younger. Got them from my younger brother. I did get Mono when I was 17 and it was a pretty bad case. I had it for almost two months. I wouldn't wish that on anyone!
