Yeah I guess it's really dangerous for adults to get chickenpox... My husband and I were talking the other night and he had them when he was 17 also... We also both graduated high school at 17... I barely remember the chickenpox... I was pretty delirious... My mom started counting the ones on my back and quit at 150 that was just my back and I had them EVERYWHERE ugh... My mom never believed me when I was sick so to this day I always think when I go to the doctor that it's never going to be as bad as it turns out to be. She had a big lesson taught to her about believing me when I stayed at a friend's house and she and my dad came to get me then I started saying I didn't feel good... She didn't believe me... I went to the doctor the next day and had tonsillitis and the Bangkok flu both at the same time... She never even said sorry...

Gosh, he's not said one "I told you so" !! I totally would have been saying it to him, LOL!! Yep, I'm careful with the neti pot, not distilled water, but boiled, then cooled before using. Oh, side note: Ice cream is great for pretty much everything.
Give me his number, I need to talk to him :D
I'm glad you use sterilized water, not everyone does :thumb:
Zooker, I would not make anyone go outside. Just my hubby that still smokes analogs...lol.

Stoneface, I would want some ice cream and some pretty strong pain meds! LOL!

Ree, that is awful! I had chickenpox when I was much younger. Got them from my younger brother. I did get Mono when I was 17 and it was a pretty bad case. I had it for almost two months. I wouldn't wish that on anyone!
Then ice cream and pain meds all around for everyone!! :D :D :D
I had chicken pox at our beach vacation as a kid. I couldn't go swimming or sit on the beach :( It was double-sad :( :(
.....and I've already had shingles once!!!

I'm still full from dinner, so no ice cream for me, but by all means, please pass the meds! :smokie: I thought I had the shingles last fall, but turns out I had a bad skin reaction to laundry detergent...we're talking some bad dermatitis that took FOREVER to go away. That sucks to get the pox on vacation! For a kid, that's the end of the world to be left out of all the fun stuff. The only time I was ever "sick" on vacation was one summer my dad had to take a business trip to South Dakota, so he took my sister and I along. We stayed at Howard Johnson's Hotel, and were left to go about the hotel and do our own thing during the day while my dad went to meetings. So fast forward, we had lunch in their little restaurant, and then went swimming. I was practicing "cannonballs" that I had just learned, and I dived into the water and hit my head on the bottom. Yep concussion. We went back up to the hotel room cuz I had such a bad headache, it made me so sick to my stomach....well lets just say bathroom + pistachio ice cream = maid service....that poor woman, bet she'd wished she'd called in sick that day.

Yes, I missed out...but I did stay inside in the air conditioning...so that was a plus (maybe that was the birth of my love for AC).
Ummmm, you did know that canonballs are not a head-first maneuver, right?? You were doing it wrong :) Just kidding. Well, I'm glad your head healed and I'm sorry that poor woman had to clean up your mess.

EDIT: LOL, Ree

Our weather has been stormy since Saturday but it's supposed to be 80° tomorrow and climb to the high 90's and possibly 100° I'm dreading it and looking forward to it at the same time... Nice weather =decreased pain but I don't do well in high temps... I get dizzy and nauseous... Oh well it is what it is...

Ree, I can't take the heat, either. Stay cool if you can. :)

You make me giggle :)
Sorry to hear about your husband's tonsilitis. I've never had it, but I always wanted it as a kid to binge on some ice cream. At least he's feeling better :thumb:

You don't want it Stoney. My Hub had to have his tonsils out when our oldest was about six months old. He was always having tonsilitis. Then our oldest had it every spring and fall for years. She outgrew hers, thankfully. I was always nursing someone through a bout of it.

Good morning, Lilac! Thank you for sharing her pic with me! What a beautiful couple! :)

Can't sleep, have my Grandmother's funeral to attend today. She passed away on Wednesday. Then our guinea pig, Venus, passed away, yesterday. Today is going to be hard, though. I didn't really get to know my Grandmother until I was a teenager, due to some issues my Mom had with my Dad's side of the family. The time we spent together then, meant a lot to me. I have always had a passion for photography, and she was a freelance photographer. She would show me pictures she had taken with her 35mm SLR, and even taught me how to use one. She would take me out on trips with her to take scenic pictures or even of just flowers. I'll always remember that!

Hope you, and everyone else, have a great day!

Sorry to hear about your grandmother, Tina. Even though you had a short time together, sounds like she had a great impact on you, it's a blessing that you did eventually get the chance to know each other. Rest in peace, grandma and Venus too.

Thanks, Zooker!

Thank you, Lilac!
