After vaping hard on genesis for a while I've got to the point that I like soft wicks better. Also- the fact that I can't lay the mod in horizontal position with genesis ,and all leakage.. No wonder why it is so many genesises these days - simply because it's not easy to create descent soft wick atomizer. Genesis is quiet simple to design and even easier to produce. I'm in the process of thinning my genesis gear and adding more Ithaka. Waiting for the Achilles The Gamechanger! ;)

Thats right Tark. Mesh style are easy and cheap to be made. I cant say things like that on forum because some people will attack me but at least I can agree with you.

Mesh style atomizers need a lot of improvements. I hope some day I will make my prototype but its not in my priorities right now

taste is subjective as all things involving "taste" many people tell me how I can still be using silica when there are so many better things, or that Im sort of "dinosaur" vaping in the dark ages. I was fortunate enough to be able to "test drive" a few genesis before I made a big purchase. Maybe its my own taste buds, or the tobaccos I use, but I did not like the way Genesis type atomizers made my juices taste.

The change was from no difference to such a large difference the flavour was not recognizable. I was glad I didnt sink money into the Genesis atomizers I was looking into ( most of them up in the 200.00 ) One of my friends loaned me his Odysseus and I fell in love.

I think that if you enjoy the heat and performance of Genesis, all you have to do is use Ithaka in the dual or quad sub ohm set ups and it should be the same. Maybe the wick does have to be changed more often, but setting up an Ody or Ithaka is so much easier.

But is the COKE vs Pepsi thing, they are the same ingredients, both satisfies your thirst etc. but some just prefer one over the other.

Imeo does not care for SS mesh, Im sure if he designed one he would make a great one, but being an artist and designer and making products that are near and dear in his heart , would you want to make him do with out his heart in it?

Just my thoughts

i completely agree with you on subjective tastes. for me i like silica based atties for any dessert or tobacco flavor, and genesis generally for everything else. however i disagree about setup. i can make a wick/coil for a genny in less than 5 mins from start to finish. for me, making ithaka coils is 100x more annoying. dont get wrong, i like the device and use it. i just hate making NR/R wires and wont pay $1 per wire. thats crazy in my book, so i just make them by hand. i change my coil on a genny once a month with wicks lasting even longer, i have to change ithaka coils way more frequently. i really dont see how it could be easier. with genesis, if its not right, it takes half a second to adjust, with ithaka, if someone is wrong, you have to unscrew the whole thing apart, and pray you dont have juice in it already. im not trying to start a commentary on the devices or how they work. like i said before, i like and use the ithaka. i think Bobas tastes fantastic out of it, but to me, the genny is soooo much easier to setup.

Scoop, I will tell you one more experience that I had with mesh:
Me, a friend that uses genesis for about a year maybe and Greek seller tried to setup an atomizer like this scoop. It took us 45 mins to do it. The reasons:

1. oxidizing the mesh (much more time than making a simple NR-R connection and you need space and tools like gas)
2. rolling mesh in the right dimentions (more time)
2. Mesh never oxidised well and we have to make adjustments all the time until it stops shorting
3. The taste is good after 1/2 day when Ithaka vapes good after 10 inhales

And why is more difficult on Ithaka to see what is wrong than on a mesh style atomizer?

LOL, I guess its just what one becomes used to doing, I was making Ody set ups in few minutes and I tried to set up genesis and took me forever, and never got it right. Once a week I sit down in front of the TV cut my wires ; 10 kathal, 20 nickel and just start twisting. I have coffee, vape , walk around , takes me 1/2 an hour to make 10, but that with a lot of other things in between.

Of course I dont use 10 in a week, but this way you become quite dexterous and you never have to scramble to make wires.

I wish I could have become good at stainless steel mesh, but even when I finally got it to be stable, the taste didnt warrant me pursuing any more training. The performance and taste was not impressive enough to make me stay with it, again thats my experience and for my simple single coil 2.0 resistance taste , I like a coolish vape.

^^^ This, as well as the particular actions involved in each type of setup are different and some people will just naturally find one easier than the other. For me I prefer vaping silica attys, but I can set up a genisis atty in 1/4 of the time from start to finish. I just find the process consistently easier for me, even though I do it less often and have been doing it for less time. Just another case of how subjective and individual everything is in regards to vaping :)

For me, génesis atties are good, I like mesh, but as all said, it takes too much time configuration of them.
Now I only buy GG stuff, GG products change my mind about silica.... But a GG genesis I think it will be great!! Because I am sure it won't be a simple genesis, it will have improvements never seen before in genesis world, until that happens, I think I am satisfied with pen and ithaka, waiting Achilles, GGTS and proteus!!

I have to jump in to give a my feedback since I do enjoy both genesys and attys. I do use them both only because some liquids are at their best with one but not the other. Genesys setup has improved alot lately with pulse method and the use of Kanthal D ribbon. No need to oxydize and you can do dry burn without breaking your coil. I do change my mesh once a month. You should give a try with that method.

Not unless you want to be thorough. Spare springs (battery and button) can be a good idea, I melted one battery spring with a short, but in a year and a half that's the only one and it was my fault so I haven't repeated the incident. Spare plastic insulators from the connectors might be useful, but again I have yet to actually need to replace one. O-rings are the only thing I'd worry about having for the short term as spares
