So I emailed Provape asking about the Polished Provaris release date, heres the response:

They're on hold for the moment since we are not 100% satisfied with the finish yet.
We are in the process of trying new polishing compounds and pads to get the finish where we want it: perfect.
Hopefully the situation will be resolved soon and we can post the release date on our Facebook page.

This is a bummer...Provape is offering one of their "RARE" coupon codes for the 4th, and no Polished Provaris are available:(
I hope they extened the discount offer if they ever release the Polished Provari...... I have bought 5 Provaris since Febuary of 2012... Id like a deal every now and then.... To tell you the truth I dont belive the Highly Polished Provaris will ever be available.... I think Provape is finding out just how much time it takes to bring them up to a High Mirrored Polish.........Its not cost effective.....

I get the feeling it will end up like the chrome... Never perfect to them, then gone like the wind :(

Electropolishing is the best way to get a fine finish on stainless steel. It has the added benefit of improving surface conductivity.

Also see: Electropolishing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I can see why someone may want the interior to be more conductive. For example, if someone wants to add a Kick to a mech mod, the interior being more conductive should make it easier to get a ground connection with the Kick’s spring.

But, I can’t think of any benefits of having the exterior surface being more conductive. Why would somebody want that?

Maybe Electropolishing (or something like it) combined with a protective clear coat on top of it? Ideally, the clear coat would be fingerprint resistant, scratch resistant and non-conductive. It would also be nice if you could buff out small scratches, similar to a car’s clear coat.

That would be kind of like the best of both worlds. You would have the good looks of a polished finish, minus some of the biggest disadvantages.

I’m assuming that you’re referring to durability of the surface finish, since the base structure would be the same if it’s clear coated or not. That being said, whichever one is more durable will greatly depend on the type of clear coat used and how it’s applied.

I think that we’re on the same page here, as I would prefer something with a more durable finish.

If the clear coat version had a more durable finish, would you prefer that to the raw polished finish? Or is there something else that you have against clear coat finishes?

I am by no means a pro at this subject, but there are several grades of stainless steel, 304, 308, and 316, 316 grade is the best I have seen, and will shine like chrome if done right. If you start to use the lower grades, you would have to work very hard to get a fine finish, and would most likely not be as nice as the 316 grade. I think there are some other grades but I am not sure. So I wonder what grade of stainless they are working with?

Good question. Engineering Materials was one of my favourite courses at University. I was recently searching for that info, but couldn’t find it. If someone knows the type of the Stainless Steel that they’re using, please let us know.
