Morning folks......Many of you know Charlie was interviewed for a Yahoo news documentary and our wedding was filmed. If you go to Yahoo today, you'll see prominently displayed on the home page a Video called "Uniquely Nasty." Here's the link if you'd like to watch it. This is not just about Charlie or our wedding. It's about the governments blatant discrimination towards gay people. It's specially ironic that J. Edgar Hoover led one of the biggest gay witch hunts in the history of the United States, when he himself was a gay man!

Anyway, the last 10 minutes of this 30 minute video is where you'll meet my husband, Charlie Baker, where he was interviewed in our home (now's your chance to see how Sir Rod lives! And at the end are scenes from our wedding.

Uniquely Nasty: The U.S. Government's War on Gays - Yahoo News

I have been educated. Once again. This is not something that was ever in my history lessons in school, or if they were, most likely I wasn't paying attention. I am outraged that this happened and things like this continue to happen today. I was extremely touched by the story.

I am moved to tears.

Thank you for sharing.

RB,

What can be said?

Thank you for letting me in to see a bit of your life and story. Congratulations!!!

Jim

PS No I am Not... It's just a bit of dust or something. Gotta go, now both eyes are watering. Jim

Same here. :)

Most Americans have no clue how incredibly bad the US Government treated gay people. I'm glad this moved you and yes, you should be angry. I hope many many people see the video are outraged! Thank you Dear Robin!!

Hey and SR got in the video too!

Glad to hear the kitty appeared.

She not only appeared. She won't stop talking to us. I guess she had a lot of time to think of things she wanted to discuss with us when she took her 25 hour hibernation under the kitchen cabinets!

I know, life is not fair. But seeing it, vs 'knowing' about it is something else. "All men fall short of the glory of God." -This statement doesn't make it 'ok'. It's like saying all left-handed people are evil and must die.

My lovely wife (sadly) is a person that believes marriage should only be between one man and one women, I disagree completely, and (thanks to SR, seriously), it has been a rather heated debate in our home. She acknowledges all the legal issues, but says (feels) it should be called "something else"...

For me it simply comes down to I am not my brother's keeper, and what he does or does not do is none of my business unless it effects me or mine. Whether you're left-handed or not makes you no better (or worse) than I.

All this makes me sad...

Peter, I'm sorry to see this subject has become one of heated debate in your home. I do know there are millions and millions on this planet who do not believe two people of the same gender should be allowed to enjoy the same benefits in matrimony millions and millions of straight people do. However, I'm quite sure your wife holds no animosity towards gay people. Don't be sad. The world is so much more accepting today. For me that is a wonderful thing.

When we were interviewed last August by Charles Francis and the law firm who has championed uncovering the government's animus towards gay citizens, one of the attorneys who so generously has donated his time to this effort spoke openly about his 13 year old son (the attorney is straight and married) who had come out. He told us he drove his son to his first date with another young man of the same age, and how proud he was of his son. It's stories like this that give's me the hope that the world will continue to accept the fact that god put us on this earth, just as god put everyone.

Thank you for what you have written as it has touched me. Yes is has!

Hey RB, finally was able to watch the video. Very sad but very true how difficult it can be to live in the country and not feel apart of it. The ending was uplifting as you and Charlie looked so happy on the beach.

I had a cousin who passed away a few years ago and he was gay as well. Everyone knew he was gay, but he could never admit to it. He was depressed and was placed on depression medication, but he was fighting who he was his entire life. He actually moved to France and started sending back letters about a french girl he met and how happy he was. Several years later he returned to just say she broke up with him and from that day to the day he died he talked about her and how he could never date again. There is no good ending to this story and that to me is very sad.

Thanks Ping. So many men (and women) have tried to be something they weren't because of societal/family pressure. To this day, young men and women still commit suicide because they know their families will shun them and they can't handle the shame. Amazing that anyone would be ashamed of who they are, something which they could not choose, nor control to begin with.

Both Charlie and I were extremely fortunate to have families who loved us unconditionally. It allowed us to build a life together, without shame or fear. And I've just made it a practice to never hide who I am as I have never felt I was ever anything but whole to begin with.

Thanks again,

I become an emotional rock when reading things like RyBryLawDudeGuy's story, in a good way. I've got good emotional strength, and I'm the shoulder people cry on.
But this post...?
Edit: they arrive today and are now available online for ordering :)
I'm bawling...with tears of joy!

So if I get this right, you didn't get emotional about Charlie's experience or our wedding, but you shed tears of joy over a top for your P3? At least I now know where we stand in your world! LOL

I guess I do. Jeesh, you'd think this was a forum about vaping or something. LOL

Since when??

News reporters are still over Charleston since the shootings. Not easy to go downtown... Now I guess they are all headed to Columbia to hear Gov Haley's speech about the flag.

Oh I didn't mean that I didn't get emotional about your story...but I just didn't get choked up with tears. When it comes to emotional things like that, my natural reaction is to become stoic and calm. I'm a natural rock for others to lean on.
But after I've been eagerly awaiting this Kabuki P3, I have searched for it at least once a day...and then Vape360 delivers that beautiful news...and...and...now I'm crying tears of joy again!!![emoji24][emoji24][emoji24][emoji24][emoji24][emoji24][emoji24]

Ok everyone...
Don't ask me how...but I just got a leaked photo of the new Provape P5 box mod.

a951b2d47e81d97ea764f2f9eec5998f.jpg

Still in its testing phase, with fake stickers from other vendors on it...but I think it looks quite capable of putting out the 3,000 watt power level that seems to be so popular these days!
This oughta shut the haters up!!!!

(Woohoo! Post number 1960! At least on my TapaTalk...)
