She's simply adorable. Yes she is. But hey, you need to turn the volume down. I drank too much champagne while Kat was dancing with yet another lamp shade on her head and I have a huge honking headache!

Good morning, world.......

Only if you season it in Old Bay.

There's no other way! I was born and raised in Southern Maryland, on the Chesapeake Bay. I have my own Crab Steamer, and coming from the Crab State, my crabs are coated with Old Bay and Crushed Red Pepper. Yes they are!

Truth be told, the Tampa area waterways are teaming with live blue crabs. During the summer months, I get up early every Sunday morning, to be first in line at a little place very near us. It's a two step buying process. I'm there first, so I get number 1. They then tell you waht time to come back and the crabs will have been delivered and in live tanks. They're caught that very morning. Since I am almost always number 1, it means I get the pick of the crabs and I always buy the biggest they have. They come home and are refrigerated until I steam them for dinner.

Does biggest translate into the best?

Happy Labor Day, Willie - and all P3 peeps!

Looks as though I missed one heck of a party. Happy to report, however, that I did have a plate (well, really a newspaper) full of MD blue crabs :). Sir Rod, how'd I miss that you're from my neck of the woods - er, um, bay?

Dunno?? I think I've mentioned I was from Southern Maryland before? I'm a crab baby for sure. It's the first food I remember eating as a baby and I remember once telling my mother about a memory I had of her picking crab meat for me and I described the place and she was shocked I could have had that memory. She said the place burned down before my 2nd birthday, so I couldn't have been 2 years old at that point, but I do remember it. Since we lived on the water, we'd bait the crab traps in the morning and pull them up every night. About 10 PM, after we'd had dinner, we'd steam the crabs and eat them as a late night treat. For me, it's wonderful to be able to get terrific blue crabs right here in Tampa. And they're exactly the same as Maryland crabs. Only in some ways better. They don't really hibernate like they do up there, so they can grow quite large down here.

Happy Labor Day everyone. We're having a jumbo shrimp and scallop pasta with a home made lemon butter garlic sauce for tonight's dinner. I'll post a pic once it's prepared!
