While I liked your first two responses...

This one is just baiting the hook now.

IMO, Jim

Perhaps, but he has a mean streak, and I didn't expect an apology, so I went with the proverbial foot-in-mouth comment. I feel better now, so perhaps we can just move on with P3 discussions.

I like my P3s...

And sometimes... I can be a bit of a corn bung holio too.

I don't have any P3's but I sure do know the corn-holio in the mirror.

John, I don't know you really. You could be the nicest guy I ever met. I honestly don't know. I'm trying to be constructive...but sometimes your comments come across as put downs. I'm willing to say you don't mean it that way but I'm also willing to say it can come across as such. Perhaps a little more scrutiny of what you're writing before you hit the send button would save some conflict. No?

I'm thinking, "Probably not."

I could bring up five pawns... ;) OK, I will... They surprisingly published test results before their new flavor went on sale! They're hope for them yet. I do hope they reformulate their classic flavors - I miss them. Nothing like Gambit in a SubTank mini on a P3...

I'm still here on ECF... sort of. ;)

P3 my ASSAY. John, go back and read YOUR words. UGH.

RB does not have a mean bone in his body. A misunderstand, perhaps, even yes, perhaps. But to take that where you did...... it is just soooooooo over the top and inappropriate.

When someone does not understand me, I know I have most likely misspoken, and will do my best to make myself more clear. NOT dump the "misunderstanding" on the ears of the recipient.

I was trying to be helpful, in letting you know what most recording engineers use. Why be hostile?

I'm an audiophile as well. I built my own speakers. I use a custom Focal 12" originally manufactured for Wilson Audio and used in their $150K speakers. I was able to get them because I know one of their engineers, who is from France, but lives 10 minutes from my house.

I see what's going on here. Your English reading comprehension has evaded you. Please go back and re-read what I wrote. "They're not the best..." is referring to my recommendation, not your selection.

John,

If my comment was taken out of context, because I believe you were saying the Zik 2.0 headphones aren't "audiophile," I certainly apologize. I read and re-read your post and to my mind that is what you were saying, while at the same time telling us how being a video and audio engineer, somehow makes you more qualified.

If I misunderstood, I would have never said what I said and for that, please accept my apology.

EDIT: John, sometimes when you try to be "helpful," you come across as more trying to assert how much more knowledgeable you are. Whether this is your intent or not, it is how I and I suspect others perceive you. I would recommend that stating an opinion of how you feel about something could be more clearly stated and less based on your profession.

Isn't a little subtle retribution a perfectly understandable response when one is attacked? But yes, I am the nicest guy ever. :)

Perhaps, but it's not fair for me to walk away feeling anger after an attack. Making that statement makes me feel better, and deservedly so. But, that's just my opinion, and what works for me.

We all misunderstand at times...

And we should forgive others. Quickly and Totally.

Grudges are no good.

Except for the one that I hold on that guy that cut me off on the freeway two years ago! (I'm gonna get him back one day)

LOLz, Jim

Not meaning to give English lessons, but sentences should not contain two different topics. Commas delineate thoughts, and my sentence was entirely referring to my recommendation.

If I may be so bold, yes, I do believe a persons qualifications do have more merit when giving recommendations. If "some guy" gave you medical advice, and a doctor gave you some other advice, whose advice would have more merit? If neither of them stated their qualifications, they would naturally have equal weight.

If I misunderstood, I would have never said what I said and for that, please accept my apology.

Accepted. Please accept my apology as well.

Well, I've had people make statements to me that I interpret as a put down. But I always give the benefit of the doubt...on the first one. But if I get 2 , 3 or more similar comments then I take to blowing the guy's doors off. I suspect others are like me in this respect.
