Received my Plasma tanks today from Boulder and built a 6 wrap 2.5mm 1.1Ω coil for the Kayfun. Had some difficulty screwing on the tank, though. Finally got everything put together and started vaping....and it was fantastic. I had forgotten how great the flavor is from the KFL+. Then I got my first slightly dry hit - too much cotton. Rewicked and haven't had any issues in 3 hours of vaping. This tank is awesome. Going to have to get another Kayfun and probably the PlasmAir (my wife likes it too, but needs more airflow).
That tank looks really interesting. Pyrex, huh? Do you regret the price? That's one of the most expensive tanks out there!

If you have a kayfun lite v2 you can buy a plasma tank from boulder vapor for $65.00. You only use the base of the kayfun.
Thanks, might check that out, authentic KFL Lite Plus V2 I have.

Or I wonder if the modified base is one to look at too. So far I'm satisfied with the draw on the Kayfun, is that the only improvement?

Since I rewicked the KFL+, I haven't had any issues with the the Plasma Tank/KFL+ combo - and I find it a better vape than I remember with just the KFL+ with the standard tank. I would purchase the PlasmAir, not just the base, as it includes the Plasma Tank (saving $5, with the Plasma Tank costing $65 + base at $130). I will get another KFL+ for my second Plasma Tank. If you already have the Plasma Tank, then getting the base may be worth it, though.

Monster V2 Base is better...

Just my opinion though.

Jim
I picked up the Monster V3 at a VapeBlast meet this past weekend and while it is OK, I find the draw just a bit more airy than I like - seems to detract from the flavor. I also noticed that it tends to leak a bit - going to try to rewick it to be more like the Plasma Tank/KFL+ and see if I get improved flavor. It may be good for my wife, though.

I am not regretting this purchase - it reinvested me in the KFL+, which had been sitting idle for awhile. Sitting on a P3 Ti, it looks very classy .

If the draw is satisfying on the kfl I would suggest the plasma tank just for the ease of use. Removing the air flow screw does add flavor to the vape. IMO

Have you compared them both?

Don't listen to Jim. He vapes on a Kilowatt.

She thinks it isn't quite airy enough; I can run it not quite all of the way open - though this is still more airflow than an un-modded KFL+V2. That little bit more air alters the flavor; the vapor is dense, (still) warm, and to my taste, richer. As Ping said, the ease of filling is a huge plus. I love this tank, and will get another. If I was at all clever with tools, I might just try to mod a base, but I'm anything but :). Sorry for radio silence.

I was wondering where you went to. Welcome back. I'm trying to justify the $130.00 for a tricked out kayfun base plus shipping.

Ping, I didn't like the KFL. It was too restricted for me. You, on the other hand, really like the KFL/Plasma set up that you have. If I was in your shoes, I wouldn't try to justify the purchase. No need. Of course, I'm not you. You're a much better golfer than I! If you do get one and aren't over the moon for it, I'm sure someone would gladly take it off your hands :)

I'll take your advice LB and hold off. Now a better golfer? I'm not sure about that. I'm playing tomorrow so I'll let you know. Fore
