Posting here because this is one group I know is full of ideas!

Bought an Ataman II from a reliable member here, brand new. Unfortunately, when I got it I rinsed it and let it dry and then threw a build on it test it out. For some reason, the atomizer became fused with my 510 adapter and I can't get it off for the life of me!

I've tried freezing it, running through my ultrasonic cleaner with a soapy solution, and a pair of vise grips clamped on each piece. It will not budge. I may be left with trying to cut the connector off. I have destroyed the Provari 510 adapter and ordered another one (forgot to order the beauty ring though, damn!) so it doesn't matter what I do to that.

But, who would I even look for that could cut it off. I don't any tools like that, so what kind of business would I look for in my yellow pages?

And I tried to get spare parts from the manufacturer, they don't make them. So this baby is useless unless I can get this cut away.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Don't turn the 510. Only work on the beauty ring. That's where the lock happens because the beauty ring is a differen thread than the atty. once the beauty ring is looks the 510 adapter will come off.

I've only had this happen with the GP Paps top caps. Only solution for me was the freezer for 5 - 10 min & vise grip immediately upon removal from the freezer.

I'd love to know what causes this especially when it's an all of a sudden thing. I never considered the cutting option....no no no.

What causes it most of the time is when you go to remove the tank, you grab the beauty ring as well and give the beauty ring a slight turn often without realizing it. Since the threads are a different pitch than the 510 threads you create a lock similar to tightening two nuts together.

It's kind of ironic in a way, that this condition happens. It was my understanding that the two rings were designed, so that one could screw an attie down, and if there was a gap, you could screw the outer ring up to meet the base of the attie. This is what I remember from the initial P3 thread. Now we have reports, and it has happened to me, where these rings are locking onto the atomizer requiring destructive force to remove them.

I would much prefer to have a one piece interface, and deal with whatever gap may or may not occur due to differing 510 dimensions, than have that sick feeling in my stomach when I realize that the P3 rings have a death grip on my 510 atomizer.

Perhaps a different thread pitch on the P3 rings outer surface and the beauty ring would eliminate the possibility, or likelihood of this condition.

I would gladly buy either option, for ALL of my P3 threaded mods, in a heartbeat.

This happened to me last weekend when I was out of town. I have had no problems at all with the 510 locking to the atomizer, ever. I go out of town and finally had the nerve scale down what I took with me, because of the extended battery life on the Radius. I took 1 radius, and one mini 2.5 with some extra batteries, and two Kabuki. One 510 on the Raduis and a P3 on the mini. The 510 locked to the ring the first day, and when it did, it raised it just enough that the Kabuki would not make the connection to the firing pin and I got the OP message. GRRRRRRRR! I had nothing with me to try to get it off, so the trusty mini 2.5 got me through the weekend. I was beyond aggravated!!

When I got home I tried multiple suggestions I had seen here on the forum to try to get them apart. Nothing worked. I was leaving it in the freezer for 5-10 minutes each time I tried a different method, including all the suggestions on the Provape site.

I was ready to give up and open a ticket because I did not want to damage my Kabuki--I tried one more thing since it was late at night by that time. I drenched the connection with Olive oil and put it in the freezer overnight. I took it out without many expectations, used a penny in the grooves and it turned smooth on the first try and came apart.

I will never leave town again with a 510 tank on a P3 with the ring! Lesson learned well because I was miserable with only one flavor the whole weekend. The trusty 2.5 worked flawlessly :)!
