Got a reply back from the email I sent to provape. Said that they are supposed to come with the 18650 tube. Both my buddy and I purchased one from the shop today, separately. We both went back together and the moment we walked through the door, without us even saying anything the woman ran to the back and grabbed is the rings and handed them to us. I suspect they may have received a call from provape and figured their stuff out real quick. Begs the question though: how or why did the tubes get removed in the first place? Not sure if I'll be shopping there anymore lol, but I got my p3 and my extension tube and I'm a happy camper now. P3+silo with the 18650 tube looks like a dang baseball bat though, it's huge! Been using 350 mode lately, but I blow through those super fast. 490 will probably be my usual

I'm glad they gave you the tube extension, which you should have had from the beginning. As to batteries, I've used AW 18490 on my 2.5 since day one and they last me from 7:00 AM until I go to bed about 11:30 PM. I just checked my P3. It's 10:30 PM and I've vaped all day and I'm at 57% according to my P3.

That's quite a batt life! My v2.5s with 18500s last about 4-5 hrs.

Yeah the P3 certainly kicks a-- on the battery usage...
On my v2.5's I was an 18490 user, and they'd last me about two days...since getting the P3, I've been able to use 18350's...they'll last me about a day and a half. I'd blow through an 18350 in less than a day on my v2.5's!!!!

How is that possible? Do you like chain-vape non-stop? I think I vape too much and I can't burn through a 18490 in a full day? How much juice do you go through in a day? That might make a better apples to apples comparison. I typically go through 3 - 4 ml of juice a day.

Haha I get about 2-3 hours of straight vape time on an 18350. If I'm rocking anything smaller than an 18650 I carry a spare battery. The device in 18650 mode is just too long with the Silo, and won't be any better once I get my hands on a Squape Reloaded. I got my Vaporshark RDNA preorder refunded to free up my budget. I was planning on having the P3, vaporshark and the Squape-R, but I think I'll pass on the DNA40's until they come out with one in a tube mod.

going broke haha

Quite similar to you ~ I vape around 5-6mls a day.

Hope I'm in the right place, been searching and have read different info. I have the opportunity tomorrow to purchase a brand new beta, at a b&m shop I like, would be my first provari. I can be patient and purchase the retail version too, so this isn't a big deal. My question is the beta really that different and does it need a software update? If they were both the same cost, would it be worth it? I plan to use it daily for a long while, finish and color is not an issue as I would purchase a silver anyway. You've all probably discuss this ad nasuem, but again, I am reading diff info online. Thanks.

The only differences between the Betas and the production models are:

1. Software
2. The diamond pattern machined into the tube, Beta only

Provape has already stated that Betas can be sent in for updates.

I'd say go for it, as they only released a set number of Betas...which makes them rare?
I don't know if that makes it more valuable...I guess that depends on the buyer.

Thanks, the software info helps. I am concerned about warranty too. Having a beta isn't really that big of a deal to me, but I think I will go for it.

As HBCorpse said above, the only difference is a software update after they reviewed the beta comments from the field and the diamonds on the sides. You didn't mention what kind of price you've been quoted, but to me, I'd only go for it if it was less than $249.95 which is the retail price for the production P3. I personally doubt you'd notice any difference in using a Beta over a production unit though........

The P3 will cost me 280, I'll see if they can do any better or match retail version. Thank you both.

Your in the right place. If I were an avid collector and had some bucks to throw down, I'd get a beta, because like others said, there is only a finite number of them in existence, and they will not be produced anymore. The only difference is literally the diamond pattern on the sides, which I don't personally care for. To be honest, I miss the crop circles and tear drops on the 2.5, but beggars can't be choosers. If I had the choice between the two right in front of me, even if the beta were a few bucks cheaper, I'd still get the current production version because I like how it looks better.

For $30 over retail, I personally wouldn't buy it. If you want the beta to have the same software as a production unit, you'll need to send it to Provape and that's going to cost $$ too. I honestly think it's debatable if the Beta units will be worth any more money over time. Maybe they will, maybe they won't, but to pay over retail for one unless you absolutely have to have the decorative diamonds, just doesn't make sense to me.
