Morning, all.
Back on the subject of beautifully crafted metal tubes and WWII, my FIL passed away on Sunday (it was a blessing), and I've been writing his obituary. He enlisted in the Navy at 15, when we entered the war, and spent most of his time on the submarine Kingfish, in the South Pacific. The stories one hears from that generation always fascinate me. Amazing people.

I'm sorry to hear about your FIL, even if it was a blessing. The passing of a parent is tough. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.
You ought to have plenty to write about in your obit.
My grandfather fought in France during the first world war and got his leg blown off during his service. While he wasn't one for talking about the gruesomeness of the war (which World War 1 was all about), we were able to get him to talk about the funnier things and the camaraderie with his combat buddies. He was born in 1890 and lived to the ripe old age of 95 so I was able to hear his fascinating war stories. They were a different bunch back then. Not sure they make them like that anymore.![]()
I too wish to give my condolences to the loss of your father in law. May he rest in peace.
So after having the P3 for a week or so...
I hope Provari offers polishing as one of their services, cuz I've already got scratches on it and I have no idea how they got there. Probably send it in once a year for service, thorough cleaning and a good polishing.
The contacts seem prone to corrosion. I was looking at the battery IQ on some brand new AW 18650's 2200mah batteries that I got with the P3 and the rating was bad....brushed every contact point off briskly on my t shirt, no cleaning solution at all and the rating went right back up to "great". There was nothing on any of the contact points that I could see, no juice leaking, no residue on my t shirt.... So a regular...(weekly) cleaning of all contact points is going to have to be done. I am using the longer spring that Cloud 9 sent with the device.....
Works, like a champ. Fires every single time.
I LOVE that I can use 18350 batteries and 18500 and 18650. Variety, is the spice of life....
It's heavy enough to feel solid and well built while being light enough to carry around all day.
I can't really say I've played with the boost feature enough to tell a difference. Maybe it works better on different juices...
I like colors, I like that I don't have to choose between three colors and that is it, I can change the colors on the button as I wish.
Would I spend that much on a mod again? Absolutely and even more, saving my pennies for the Ti version now.
My problem is the Subtank (et al) is the best airy vape I can find that uses prebuilt coils (I do not make coils-hands are shot). My 25mm Subtank leaks very badly from the seals, my Subtank Mini leaks from the airflow adjustment ring (I HATE JUICE ON MY HANDS), I am on my second Mini and it is slightly weeping juice from the air flow adjustment ring.
Tell me something else to use? The Silo is good, but not as good/airy as the Subtank. Should I dare spend the $$$ I don't have (fixed income, disability) to buy a Subtank Plus? (new 25mm Subtank)? Any ideas??
At least 2 days without ECF should bring on some withdrawal symptoms to a few of us. Tomorrow I'm good, great weather so golf is in. Tomorrow night hockey. Thursday Dr appointment then spend time making coils, after that back to hockey.
If you don't hear from me on Friday chalk it up to not knowing what to do. On the bright side I can't get banned for the next two days.
Mama might throw you out of the house though.![]()
Jet, boost is an excellent feature
Nah, we already know there's something in it for her, as well...![]()
