I have a good friend here on ECF who just put her cat down a couple weeks ago. Her cat was 22-1/2 years old. I called her Durakitty more than two years ago and that's what she called her cat henceforth. She was devastated. Within a few days, she happened upon a kitten that looked just like her Durakitty so she took it. I suspect you will get another kitten too once you can get past the grief. Heck, get two. They're more fun to watch and you will have done a great deed for two needy animals.

When we bought our first home in 1980, we got a pair of Siamese kittens (Kit and Caboodle!), they lived a long life of 16 years. We then waited a couple years too long and we got Bombay and Burmese kittens (Koh and Sakai). Sadly Koh was not a healthy cat and had to be put to rest at 10, but Sakai appeared to be doing so well, until just 6 weeks ago. I told Charlie at dinner I don't want to wait a couple years before we get kittens again. But we do need to grief some before either of us will be ready. But we will get a pair of cats because they do better with company.

Definitely have to get over the pain first. Differs among people.

So I got the bright idea to change my Avatar. That's a BIG issue. According to the upload dialog box, you an only upload an avatar picture that is no larger than 5KB. That's too small. And even when I try to save the picture as a teeny tiny photo, 25 pixel by 25 pixel, it's still too large. So now I can't have any avatar picture. I guess I'll have to write a note to a forum administrator as 5KB is unreasonably small........

And btw, the image I uploaded is 5.3 kb and it's still too large to use as an avatar.

263 But I have no clue how or why I have points in the first place.

Sad day. I'll be off-line. We have to take our beloved 17 year old cat to be put to sleep. I've been crying all day and Charlie, my husband is beyond upset.

Think of us in about an hour.......

Well, my P3 peeps, this has been a cruddy couple of days without my family... Wife's Grandfather passed away on Wednesday, and Thursday, a young man who I mentored throughout his high school years lost his battle with depression. Add the loss of Sir Rod's beloved kitty, and it just sucks all the way around. Except for my family-you folks make it bearable.

I'm okay with most of the changes to the forum, but MAN, it takes a lot longer to catch up on 3 pages of posts now...

Thank you Willy! I'll save that to change to sometime. I really appreciate your help. I still they need to give us more space than a measly 5KB for an Avatar picture. Yes Oh Yes I do!

Tim, I'm sorry to hear about your family and friend losses too. Yes, the forum will take some getting used to. There are things I like and thinks I'm not too keen on, but we'll all adjust and be OK.

Hey guys, sorry for your losses.

We just lost one of our 17yr old cats.

I feel sad for his brother. He's never been an only kitty.

All his life his bro has been there for him. He seems to be a little at loose ends, but doesn't understand why. Gotta be tough on him.

Siblings are the best. They look after each other. We used to go on quite long trips and the boys would be like, "Oh you're back. Nice to see you. Whatever...", when we would return. Did not phase them in the least as long as they had food and water. And each other.

Anyone else having issues with Tapatalk in the new forum? It's not updating for me...
Never used it before, tried to sign in with the new forum format, no workie.

It looks pretty good with a mobile device, minus tapatalk.

Yeah - same here. But the new ECF is so mobile friendly that I just deleted it from my Watch list. Saved an icon for ECF and added it to my "social" folder.

Tapatalk will still rock the other forums though. Just not this one.

I, for one, am pleased with the developments here. Still work to be done, but a marvelous start.
