Ok, this gonna sound newbie, but on my new P3, I'm having trouble dialing in the watts, I have 1.9 ohm atty, volts set at 4v, I have it at 9 watts, but still doesn't hit as hard as my 2.5 @ 3.6v. Any ideas, help to understand more the relation between the voltage and wattage settings, would be appreciated.

Don't get to obsessed with the settings. Turn it up until it tastes good.

This short thread might be helpful: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-vaping-discussion/522606-difference-between-watts-volts.html

One does not set both watts and volts---one sets either watts or voltage. The thread will explain that. On accurate regulated devices it doesn't matter if one prefers to set via volts or watts. ProVari's are known to be accurate. Also, read through to the last post -- airflow might be providing a cooler vape with the P3.

In other words, set your voltage at 3.6V...

Add: I think with heavier gauge, it's more apparent. I noticed a difference between the P3 and 2.5 as well, but couldn't put my finger on it. Then I set the P3 for voltage and found them a lot closer.

I have a few ideas about what might be causing that, and also I found when I took repeated hits keeping the atty (RDA) warmed up it was less apparent. Possibly related to changes in resistance as the atty heats up but also possibly related to the inductance of the coil - till we know more about how the P3 holds wattage constant, vs how it keeps voltage constant, it's hard to put a finger on why this is happening, if it's a unintended effect, something we should expect, or a glitch...

I did notice it was more apparent on heavier gauge builds in an RBA vs standard HV attys (thinner gauge)
