So for us beta testers.... what are the changes to the final release? Many of us requested feature changes and tweeks and since we are mere weeks away from release how about letting us know what changes have occurred? I'm still all in regardless of any or no changes, but since it must be finalized by now give us something new to talk about! Come on Provape... throw us a bone, we want a little something to chew on while we wait for the release.

Vape360, I am totally content...
But Jazzman has a point...
Giving us at least ONE new update to the P3 would help sate a few appetites, quench a few thirsts, and settle a few stomachs...
Not to mention, it may perhaps wrangle a few fence riders.

It's great to see the new information, and that answers some questions I had but new ones come to mind.

It's great that P3s will be able to be updated, that's awesome news, but something caught my eye: price for updates… is that for sending in P3s to ProVape for the update, or will the firmware update will have some cost to it (or both)?

And on a different, but related, question: will P3 owners be able to purchase the hardware to make the updates at home, if they wanted to? (I'm guessing that would be a no, but it would be a great alternative; and if possible, are those "kits" something to plug to a computer via USB, maybe? For PC, Mac, or both?

No USB port or there would be no need to see a dealer for a upgrade. It could be done online for a charge.

Yeah I know the P3 itself won't get a USB port, but the "updating device" would be connected to a computer, or would it be a kind of computer with access itself to the net for firmware downloads (and rendering the idea of users, and even some dealerships, unable to get such "device".)

And the thought of having to pay for the updates, while understandable at some point (I'm an IT specialist and know that developer time costs money, software development costs money,) kinda bothers me as we'd already paid for the P3 which in my eyes includes firmware upgrades.

To mention one example, Apple used to charge for OS updates (both iOS and OS X,) but they've since changed their state of mind and no longer charge for them, as they want users to be on the latest and greatest, giving Apple itself better opportunities, better numbers, better customer service, better satisfaction, etc.

Hi Jazz,

Here are some of the changes in the software section.

Ver 35 - Is the new Ver number.

1. We increased the amperage limit to 5.5 amps.

2. We added a function in the menu to when you are in the Aup or Adown, you can change power in both directions. For example if you go into Aup and you are adjusting your power up and you go past where you wanted, you release the button and wait a second. The system will toggle the arrow icon from Up to Down and then you click the button when it's pointing down, it will allow you to adjust down within the same screen. This saves you from having to go back out of the menu then to Adown to adjust.

3. We have added a back arrow icon in the second level menus so you can select to go back to the previous menu instead of going all the way out and then back into the menu.

4. In the recall info section, we slowed down the way the serial number scrolls. Some dealers that wanted to write down the number requested that it go slower because they could not write the numbers down before it would advance to the next set of serial numbers.

This is still being worked out so I don't have all the details yet, but of course any bugs or problems with the software would be free to update at your local reseller. Once I have more info on how new feature updates will work, I'll let you know.

The programmer would be for dealers only.

That's a great idea. I originally took video with my phone and paused it while writing down numbers. Something people might not know however is you can press the button to scroll through the numbers quickly, if trying to get to a certain number faster, so slowing down the scrolling speed won't make it take any longer than the user wants.

Yes, you can always press the button to advance :)

One more thing that was changed:

The voltage and the wattage are linked. So if you set the device to 10 watts, then go into adjust voltage, it will be set to the voltage that is closest to the wattage you had. You can then adjust up or down from there.

The status screen that shows all your details with one button press, has also been updated to show the wattage and voltage, which toggles between battery percentage and the voltage and wattage settings. This is helpful for those who are used to voltage, there is a reference now to the closest voltage match on the same screen so you can see them both.

Very EXCITED!

My local vape shop called me earlier today to ask exactly what color P3 I wanted (Satin Silver of course). They're ordering it today and they hope to have it in the next week or two!! And they're going to sell it for the price Provape quoted this week!

Not that it will make me special or anything (well maybe just a teeny bit) but I'll have the very first production built P3 in Tampa, FL SOON!!

Thanks and yes, patience is a virtue I was born without. Completely, so I congratulate myself on managing to not go berserk waiting for this moment. Now, it just needs to get here. So PROVAPE. Please get the order out for Tampa Vapor as soon as you can, OK??!!
