This is my first vv/vw device, and first provari, with that being said, I found the menu to be very intuitive. The one button scrolling system works. I set the speed to the 2nd setting and it's perfect for me.

Great First device to have.

EDIT: Wait a minute... 120 Watts... Is that a bootlegged edition?

Also, I noticed that I have to turn up the wattage quite a bit for a strong hit. My cousin has some kind of ZNA clone and when he turns his up to 7 watts, it has a very strong hit. On the Provari 3, I get a very weak hit at 7 watts. I would have to turn mine up to like 13 watts to get a comparable hit on it. We are both using VTC5 batteries and .8 ohm coils...

Maybe his is set to mean. RMS is accurate, mean is not and hits twice as hard as RMS. Not in a good way.

Not that I live my life based on Busardo's opinions, but he had an overall positive impression with the Provari P3. I really don't care what his or any reviewer's opinion is. But I do care about how well the reviewer imparts information and Busardo rarely disappoints there. His biggest, #1 negative issue was the auto scroll menu. In fact, take that away and he probably would of had an orgasm. A couple of his negatives have already been resolved. I don't know how much I will like or dislike the auto menu but I'm thinking, at worst, it will not be a major problem. I'd still rather have a single button menu than multi-button menus. From there, it's a matter of do I want it to auto scroll or do I want to press the button in lieu of? Hardly anything I will lose sleep over.

I did get my most pressing question answered. He scoped the boost option and said he was getting a 30% increase of power at 8 watts and 20% increase at 10 watts. So the guy who posted earlier (sorry, forgot who that was) thought it would be a 3-watt boost. He wasn't far off. Seemed wimpy to me but apparently not as the feedback from boost users is quite positive.

Nice review of Phil's review, Bronze. I think we'll find the amount of boost applied will be related to the setup and settings, and their relationship to the resistance, wattage, voltage, and current limits.

I think so too. Just saying it boosts 30% at 8 watts doesn't tell the whole story. What does it boost at 8 watts at a given resistance would be something I would like to know. Actually, I would like to hear from Provari EXACTLY how they determine the power flow in boost mode. Simply telling me the duration of each boost setting doesn't tell me what I want to know. Not sure why this has to be classified information. I was hoping Phil had a more comprehensive analysis. I'm not getting my shorts in a bundle about it because in the end it doesn't really matter because it either works or it doesn't work and I can adjust the setting accordingly. I'm just curious. :)

There's definitely something going on- I reported battery concerns earlier but I'm finding it's not consistent. Some of my batteries are less than optimum, but I also have a new VTC4 and I'm expecting those Panasonic NCR18650LFs are in my mailbox (although I'm waiting for a reply or comment on those Hybrid IMR LF's specifically).

Make sure you clean everything - threads, bottom cap, contact, battery ends etc...

I'm starting to suspect something with the bottom spring  - noticed a big improvement when I soaked it in PGA (I have a small flask I use for deep cleaning that barely fits). Also I swabbed the connector with a well soaked qtip. Now (on my 3rd day) my VTC4 is getting acceptable 7-10 hours which is ok for me- not as good with the AW's.

Also, I've noticed it'll drop down to low 80%'s then stay there a while before plunging quickly to single digits where it stays for a while before hitting empty. If I remember, I'll check the loaded voltage on a p2.5 before recharging next time.
Sent you a PM jimho

Does this mean you are getting a P3?

I spent an hour last night reading the P3 owner's manual. Is there something wrong with me?

Hang on.

(Robin, you available?)

It seems to be pretty simple actually. Most of it you'll set the first time and probably never fiddle with it again. I mean, how many times does someone want to change their LED color? Is life that uninteresting that changing the Provari LED color becomes a highlight of one's life? :)

Do I have to answer truthfully? :p

I rest my case :pervy:

Shipping says due to arrive TOMORROW!!!

That would be MY reason for getting one. ;) Ooo look! Pretty shiny lites!

I've noticed more clouds when the button set to blue, green a better flavor.

In all seriousness, you hit the nail on the head with me. P3 is my first high end mod, I adjust the watts every once in a while and that's it, haven't been in the menu since fiddling with it initially. I love this thing.

Oh Mtek, by all means use some of the features on your P3 beyond the power adjustments. You must try the boost feature. Not sure what kind of atty you're using but with boost you can get creative. Also, if you're using more than one atty/flavor you can adjust your settings how you like them and save them in the recall feature. The P3 has some nice stuff that is useful (notwithstanding 8 color choices).

Yea don't be like me! Be exciting with your PV! :p

I only vape unflavored, and I wrap the exact same coil time and again. When I get a P3, I will literally spend 5 minutes looking through the menu, set up my defaults, and then probably never look at the menu again. I did all my experimenting(and I mean A LOT), my first 3 years of vaping. Now it's all about the set it and forget it.

Oh, I set the boost...actually I don't think that feature gets enough credit. Second day I set it to 3, 1.5 ohm build on a kayfun v2, works great. Im not into it as much, started Oct 1st and still finding my fav juices, so in time I'll fine tune and use the recalls.
