Sounds like my houseactually, at any given time, I only use 6 Provaris and rotate 8 batteries ... swap a battery and charge whenever one gets low.
Even worse, buying lightbulbs. Thankfully I've changed all my bulbs to LED so I don't have to do that for a while.
Now to go check out battery chargers, again.
Battery Chargers - RTD vaporNo you don't. It's clear. You want an xtar VP2. If it's good enough for Bronze, it's good enough for all of us! Yes it is!

LOL!Blast You Bronze. Blast You. I'm sure you couldn't possibly guess what I just ordered, even though what I have actually works. But then I started reading about how much more efficient and better it is. So BLAST YOU BRONZE!
LOL!
What were you using? I forgot.
I kind of have the same thing going on here Sir Rod. I have a two bay charger but one of the indicator lights is wigging. It still appears to be charging the batteries OK but I don't feel particularly confident so I just use the one bay (like you). It was a cheap charger and I've had it two years. I can't ask for more than I got out of it. Makes for a good road trip charger. Time to upgrade for home charging. And honestly, that little Trustfire charger I have never made me feel safe. I don't know what kind of safety protections are built in it and if they even work anymore. Charger safety should be taken as seriously as e-cig safety. I'll feel a whole lot safer using a new VP2. i don't need my house burning down. It's an Intellicharger. But I don't know what's intelligent about it. It just blinks while charging, then glows solid when the batteries are supposedly charged. And one bay hasn't really worked well for a while. I usually only charge one battery at a time, so it's not been an issue, but then you got me thinking. If one bay isn't working so well, the other could stop as well. So, I took advantage of the 5% discount for ECF and ordered the darn thing.
Good! Now that we have that settled said:Just researching the latest VV/VW Mods. Used to own a Provari a couple years ago.

The noises would definitely motivate me to replace it. In fact, when you get your new VP2, take a hammer to your old charger so no one can ever use it again. I'd place that thing in the fire trap category.Proving yet again how much we have in common. To be honest, my batteries were charging, but I never felt the charger I have was doing a very good job and it even makes odd noises. So then YOU HAD to go and get me thinking about battery charging safety and wham, we're both getting Xtar's.
DON'T. DO. IT. I have had both the LUC V2 and V4 2014, and they were both problematic and helped to destroy my first batch of batteries. Their charging algorithm is beyond sub-par. It won't explode your batteries, but it WILL shorten their lifespan significantly. Not a huge fan of the Nitecore i4 myself and was considering a LUC as a replacement. Would the Xtar be a better choice? Will it charge 18350's without having to use a spacer?
If I ever have a need for a diplomat, you're hired!@ricks , I couldn't reply to your post, as you embedded your response in my OP. Sorry for the shout out.
I think most of us like our P3s (and 2's and 2.5's) because they are akin to the Energizer Bunny - they go on and on and on. They have limited power, that's true, but for folks who vape between 10-18 watts, and who aren't cloud chasers, the ProVape products are perfect. I do sub ohm and sometimes want clouds; my P3s can't satisfy those requirements, so I don't use them exclusively. But I wouldn't want to be without them. They are my "go to" mods. I know they will work, safely and efficiently, and for a very long time.
I hope you land on a mod (or three) that pleases you as much as my P3's please me!
