@Tinbin Perhaps you didn't know, but the Radius does come with a plug. Spares can be picked up in quantity at various places, too. Plus, there is always duct tape. :)

I understand people thinking all metal would be better --- but I must say --- it would be very heavy if it were steel and quite expensive if in Ti. It's plenty hefty as it is (at over 6 ounces) and I understand the poly is quite similar to that used on some guns. It is quite durable, very hard to scratch and IMHO a great finish that is also rather handsome.

As you know from your mini -- provi's are made to take a beating. As this is officially the ProVari Radius, rugged is certainly part of the design.

Since I personally use the USB plug and love that it has that option, I have no problem with the occasional battery swap, should I need or want to. Plus, the USB port means it can be updated on line....a terrific feature. Again, IMHO.

That seemingly funky design holding the battery could be considered pretty inventive as it adds to the efficiency of the device, I do believe. It's no flimsy wire holding it, but a cable of some sort, too.

Alas, no device is great for everyone. Just thought you might appreciate some more info on the Radius.

Any cat I ever had laughed at those things and continued to use the corner of the sofa.

Clearly, their human didn't do a very good job of teaching them what a scratching post is for. Emi and Eri actually use them and seem to be doing a good job of leaving other things alone.

I tried everything. Even catnip. They just laughed harder. Bought them every toy known to man and they had no interest. Then one day I dropped a milk cap and our black kitty leaped for it, knocked it to the other side of the room then picked it up and brought it back. The great fetching cat was born and she lived to play fetch with that stupid milk cap. Had to be the kind with threads. The snap on/off caps didn't do anything for her. All that money for these "proven" cat toys and the only thing she liked was a milk cap that I didn't pay anything for.

I've found that although they'll summarily ignore any cat bed or scratching post I've bought for them, they'll really take to the boxes they've come in.

Both Emi and Eri play fetch. We've never had cats who fetch. But they both drop a toy at our feet and wait for us to throw it. They go after it, then bring it back and drop it at our feet. I've seen YouTube vids of other fetching cats, but never thought I'd have two who did.

The trick to training a cat to use a scratching post is to take them to it and extend their claws on the post. They get stuck on it and soon they're scratching away. I read that in a how to train your cat to use a scratching post article. When they were kittens, we did this daily, until they got it.

Your cats are decidedly atypical, and not just for the fetching thing. Every other cat on God's Green Earth knows exactly what you want them to do, and take evil pleasure in doing otherwise

No kidding. Especially the male cats. They purposely will :censored: with the man of the houses head. The stories I could tell...

My kitty ignores scratching posts too.

But what's really cute - when she's coming in the front door? She scratches at the doormat for a minute (while you wait patiently, holding the door for the little princess...). It's like she's wiping her feet before coming in the house.

And she'll claw my leg, if she's hungry.
