As befitting my username, I'm still partial to the ESS AMT-1 pair I bought back in the 1970s.

Ah, yes, the air motion transformer - a great driver, even by today's standards. The first studio I worked at still used them. Best explanation to anyone who doesn't know how they work is like you squeezing a cherry pit between your fingers until it launches - that's what the AMT's are doing to air.

Well, that beats the fact I bought my Heresy's in '86.

I love Klipsch speakers. Pretty far from "accurate", but they do have a unique sound that's very likable. I've always wanted to build a home theater with a pair of K-horns for L/R, a Belle for C, and Heresy's all around. I met Klipsch a couple times and had great conversations. He's a mad genius, and his speakers have stood the test of time - a lot of time.

You sound like Astro used to and I'm about to... :-x

EDIT: I don't own a Radius either but started coming in here when ProVape started the thread to get in all the hype. Well, I'm probably not going to get a Radius instead I bought another P3 because I prefer that form and format. Will be getting Jackie a Radius this summer.

Anyway, besides Astro, there is another guy in this thread I used to not appreciate either from another thread (he will remain nameless, lest his feelings get hurt) but have grown to love and appreciate that guy, too. He seems different in this one. Maybe it's me.

I love you too, Stanley. Welcome to the ProVape Radius thread! :offtopic::toast:

You are probably referring to me, and dats ok ;)
See, the thing is.....the Radius, is exactly what I was wishing for at the time, and took a lot of flack for those wishes, so I could have seemed a little different then. Now, I sit with the very device in my hand that I was told in no uncertain terms back then Provape would never make, and it is one of the best devices I have every used...it seems to just find its way into my hand all on its own :p

That, and I was accepted into da family...actually, I was drug into the family unexpectedly, and couldn't be happier :D

Thank you for replying. I'm in no way trying to be argumentative. Just wanting to figure out Provapes design. I would've thought they would have stuck with what they know as being a good material. Metal. I have been carrying a Glock since 1996. Its a polymer metal mix like the Radius but it doesn't deal with voltage. When my batteries run low I want to be able to change them not wait on a hour or more charge. I just feel that the removal of they bottom plate to change batteries with cause too much wear and tear on the negative terminal that there.
I do want this mod. I would pay extra for an all Ti Radius with a single battery thumb screw. And keep the mini port for updates.
just fyi, the cable attached to the negative terminal is very stout.....I have zero worries over it giving out, and I am often switching batteries over on board charging, cause I am absent minded lately and forget to plug the danged thing in. Switching batteries takes about 15 seconds, if that.....so its not really all that onerous ;)

A little bit, but not completely off the deep end like real "audiophiles" :p

I love McIntotosh gear. I'd have some if I could afford it. My dad has their receiver. All I have is their free media player app on the iPhone!
could be worse, could be like me.....audiophile tastes, on thrift shop budget.
Someday I will find one of these in a thrift shop though, I swear it.......

How clear could I be that it doesn't bother me?

I was just saying, that's the stuff people who aren't one of the 10 that chat here mention that they can't find relevant info is all. I don't care either way. But there is a Chit Chat thread and the Provi thread that RB opened up...

all one has to do is post a question anywhere, in any ProVape thread ... I've never seen a ProVape question go unanswered in any ProVape thread.

And I've never seen an issue go unresolved ... there is also the search function one can use.

finally, ... you can also ignore me ... you have many options other than hoping people stop wishing others a good day :smokie:

you're now sending me PMs? ... please don't :smokie:

Better than you jumping all over me on every thread I post in then telling me that I'm the one who has the problem with you.

I think people would appreciate that I shot you a PM saying we should clear the air rather than here????? Just stop man!

But now you call me out to everyone and highlight my PM?

Whatever dude.

Go ahead and feel free to screenshot what I said to you so people don't think I sent something crazy... Trying to make me look bad?

Again - just stop... My pm was to get it to stop.

I've been posting on Provape threads for like a year and a half... And I was all over the beginning of the Radius thread and P3 threads.

This is the 4th time I'm saying it.... And the last...

It does not bother ME. ME. ME. At all! Was just making an observation.... Due to what transpired earlier in the week..

I would not post your PM ... forum rules do not allow that.

ok, you have the last word ... maybe take my advice and ignore my posts :smokie:

If this were taking place at the bar I used to run, you'd both get this look:

And you'd both be asked to keep out for a minimum of 30 days.

Yep. I noticed that. Bottum plate has a spring that pushes up on brass negative post. Its that dangling wire that kind scares me. I'm sure its tough.
I'm not giving up on the Radius. Maybe I will order one and see how it plays out.
I do think an all Ti Stealth Radius would be a better mod and worth every dollar. Redesigned bottom of course where batteries could be easily changed like all other ProVari's.
I wouldn't worry too much. The wire is long enough that you don't need to bend it at all to swap batts. The screw nuts are molded in place and have a 350+ lb pull out force. The polycarbonate is actually stronger than that used in glocks, its aerospace grade which is iirc a couple grades higher than the ballistic grade.

Provape really over built it for the punishment most would ever give it, but that's why most of is buy provape products.

Hahahahaha!!!

This was an epic post that literally again had me laughing out loud! Well done HB! We'll done. Lolol. The looks back and forth - love it!

You're good for getting me to laugh out loud on the forums a good couple times a week - and I don't usually/ever laugh out loud at a comment on a forum.

Good form Sir.

:)

lol ... yeah ok, good luck with that :glare:
Anybody involved in a fight was 86'd for a minimum of 30 days, but typically a year or more. Even if you were the victim, and simply got sucker-punched.
My security kept a short, accurate list,
Locals were loyal enough to give me a heads up when trouble makers were making an attempt to cruise in with fake IDs, to avoid the security.
The bar was popular.

and I'm sure there were nights where, after the fact ... minding your own business would have been the better choice.

Oh it always felt like that.
But being in charge doesn't lend itself to minding my own business.
I didn't care what the content or context of the argument was, I just ended it, and got all those involved out the door.
Kinda miss it sometimes!
