Newbies please note that this is ALL being done in fun (if any are watching). When it comes to battery safety, each of us would urge that you do your own research, and come to your own conclusions. Take NOTHING here (except what I'm saying in THIS particular post) with anything but a grain of salt.

It's only funny until it's your house that burns down. And they do. Please be safe (whatever THAT may be).

Hmmmmm, me thinks there's a subliminal message in there, but what could it be? Huh? What?? ;)

I'd hate to have somebody trying to learn about battery safety be impacted by our sophomoric wanderings. Was that subliminal, or very clear? I hope it was the latter, not the former. ;-)

And your local fire departments would like to thank you all for their support. It's important that we keep them in business, after all.

(That's a JOKE, people. Lighten up, and do whatever the :censored: you want).

I've seen videos of li-ions going into thermal runaway. I'd prefer to never see that up close and personal!
Leave it to me for my 1st mech to be one that didn't have a locking feature. Imagine, if you will, riding in the front seat of a car going 70mph, mod so hot you literally can not touch it while feeling it trying to burn a hole between your thighs. You know how much room is in the front seat.......NONE!!! :danger:
Prior to this, I knew nada about thermal runway. Believe me, I know now!!!

I'm sorry, gin, but I didn't see Knife's question...

Cordless phones use NiMh cells (a different battery chemistry than what we use in our vapes), and are happy to be left on a charge indefinitely, from what I've read.

Li-Ion is a whooooooooooooole nother animal.

Agreed, and thank you.
Do you leave your laptop plugged in when away from home? Many of those use Lithium batteries.

Seriously. Get a good charger and assess the risks yourself. Bad things can happen at any time.

Bits scrambled by Tapatalk on my Nexus 6...

Laptop? Oh yeah, I remember those things.

No. I did not leave them in. I removed the batteries and just plugged mine in with the slot emptied.

Personal choice. Please make your own.

My choice as well.

And a good charger is a great recommendation, Elyptic.
