I'd just want to see if it could be done. I've rebuilt a lot of coil heads that weren't intended to be rebuilt including T2's, CE3's, Novas, Protanks, etc...

I know it can be done. Even watched a video on how to do it. Ended the video with a Not Gonna Happen by me alarm going off in my head.

I look at this'a way. I spent on average $45/week (or more) on smokes. That's about a years worth of coils. I can more than justify the coil expense.

I'm not sure it would be worth rebuilding a stock nautilus coil ;)
+1

Not worth my (or most of our) time. If a Nautilus coil is $2-ish, the only reason I can think of that makes rebuilding them make any sense is if they were suddenly illegal or discontinued. No other reason IMO.

I like building my RDA/RBA coils every once in a while, but unless prebuilt Aspire coils disappear completely (doubtful as Nautilus coils can be found in huge quantities EVERYWHERE), why bother?

YMMV...

I regularly have rebuilt the Kanger PT2 genre coils since I was using the T3's with the threaded base. I have tried and met with only dismal results re-building the Nautilus coils. The upside is that they do give me about a weeks run time for a 2$ coil. I chalk it up to the cost of convenience. Cleaning them might get me one or two more tank fills of vaping, not really worth the time in the end for me.

I've rebuilt Protanks. For me, it was like watching grass grow.

Guys, it would not be worth it. I would only do it to see if it could be done. Understand? :)
That's the thing. I have re-built the Kanger coils because I can build them better than the stock one's. Heck, I even use the stock one's till they pop, but re-wick them with cotton and tune them up by making the spacing even and centered before ever using them. I'm sure there might be folks who can re-build them BVC coils and maybe match or perhaps even better a factory build. But it isn't as easy a task as a horizontal center wicked coil.

Way back there was a thread with a guy building a BVC coil into a Kanger PT2 head. This was before any BVC coils were on the market. I just looked at the pics and said, yeah....no! I was amazed at the talent, but lack the skills/ patience that is required for that.

actually, doing a BVC in a kanger pt2 head isn't as difficult as you would think ;)
