It's actually far higher than industry standards for electronics. Apple for example is rumored (they will never publicly publish the number) a 10 - 20% defect rate for iPhone.
I understand, it is a great record. One must consider that a lot of units are probably in for minor repairs, user error/damage, or just plain dirty, the old ones the board could sometimes come unglued. That, and it does not imply total failure, just the number of units that need returned for service.

Considering the crappy batteries they used, in my mind that number is more like 100%

If the nautilus was not an option to buy meaning there also would be no kabuki and you could not build a coil so you needed a drop in tank what would you get? I ask cause a friend's mom has a nautilus and does not like it. She is legally blind so on a very fixed income and can not afford a kabuki. What other options could I direct her towards? I just found out about her dislike today so I have not gone to take a look. But when I can and she still can't get it what options do I have?

Out of curiousity- What is it she doesn't like about the Nautilus? And I'm guessing, on a fixed budget she hasn't tried anything else so I guess my question really boils down to what has she compared it to, to know she doesn't like it?

Hope that question makes sense ... it did in my mind. :)

If she does not like the Naughty, chances are that she would not like a Kabuki either.

I have been enjoying the Aspire K1 Glassomizer...

She seems, from what I can tell over the phone, to have issues with the afc. Beats me. I think it is a vision thing. But I will take a look at the one you like. I have not heard of it. So thanks for the response.

Take a look at the Beyond Vape Silo, takes the nauti BVCs. I like that one better than the Nauti. And if she doesn't want the AFC at all, then the Silo Lite may be better for her. It takes the "other" BVCs.

Eleaf GS air or GS air M, cheap enough to give a try & very good clearo's.

But be careful with the Silo. Check it in a B&M, if possible, play with it. I had one once, the coil stripped the threads of the chimney in a week (or something), as it leaked all over, regardless how precise and careful I put it together. I wasn't over-tightening, I think. Still have it. Well, it probably was the first batch, i got it just as soon as they appeared, around Dec 2014. Apart from that, a nice tank.

Indeed. I suggest them for my flock as an alternative to the Nautili. Half the price for the tanks, 2/3 the price for the coils. They're cotton and, if needed, Ni200. I suggest the GS Air atomizer (that comes with Ni200) and get the 1.2 Ohm kanthal/cotton coils. Works well for mouth-to-lung hits.
It's a 12 USD tank. The pic has MS inscription, I dunno why, but it looks like that.

Ah, that stinks about your Silo. I have about 5 of them and never had that issue. I did order all of them as the B&Ms in my area don't carry them. I got my first one around the same time as you did, when they first came out. Liked them and ordered more.
I've not tried the Eleaf so can't comment on that one.

Nah, prolly a user error on my part. I really liked it while it lasted.

Attention Ghosties!

Yes, it's silly, yes it has eGo threading, but it's cheap and might be fun for a minute. I've seen them under $2 from overseas, but this page has more info. ECBlend coupon code (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't; it might only be for juice): 10020

Clearomizer - Greensound - GS-H2L - LED Light

Replacement coils are available in 1.8Ω

I'm confused, why are you skeptical, that model gs air is the closest match to a nautilus in airflow, vapor & taste. All the GS series can use the same replacement heads.
There are several authentic eleaf GS series clearo's,,, GS air, GS air 2, GS air M, GS air MS & GS tank, all range from $8.20 ~ $15
IMO, The GS series are the most underrated inexpensive clearo's available.
You do have to watch out for clone/fakes.

I would like to know where to buy authentic aspire nautilus heads for $8.20 per 5 pack, source please?.
