Don't all mods?

Is it turned of or on?

Would it be different with an atty attached?

Thanks, Jim

I think any electronic device with an electronic switch (vs. mechanical switch) will have some sort of parasitic drain on standby. I think, even if it's off unless the device is locked out but I could be wrong about that. Anyway, it should take years to drain a battery...Ive read the battery self discharges faster than the E switch drain.

yes, it is turned on. It's never been off since I bought it. :)

No, no different with an atty attached to it. (the numbers I posted are from a second test/monitoring..first test had the atty attached and showed even worse numbers-voltage was down to 4.01v from full charge and Radius was sitting for at least a day without any use on a fresh charge) also, I was thinking the battery might be the issue...nope, for the second test I used a different battery.

and...not bashing Provape at all. WE KNOW it will be fixed an returned in a week or two or three at worst. Just mentioning this in case anyone has poor battery life and think it's in their head or not sure where to start. (besides the obvious like a poor quality/dying cell)

This same issue happened before with a HDS flashlight that I own...things happen to the best of electronic devices. In this case it will get fixed without a long wait or boat ride overseas.

I regularly build down to around 0.8 ohm on my v4 with the stock insulator, and I haven't had any issues to date. My current build is 0.9 ohm, and I'm running it at 20W with no complaints. Except maybe that I'd like to be able to actually taste the vapor. Stupid sinuses.

I almost depleted the first tank with this build (maybe a milliliter left) and it's been working like a charm.

So MaSheSo! Our favorite place puts Kimchi, pork belly (so crisp, yet luscious inside) and then you add things you want, such as beef tenderloin, jumbo shrimp, chicken etc., and it's just luscious. Spensive too, but oh so good!
My sister made a big slab of pork belly when she was here for Christmas. She cut it up so I could freeze it to use in ramen. I'm able to buy the fresh ramen noodles where I live. So yummy with pork belly, bok choy and a hard boiled egg.

I had never had gourmet Ramen until this place opened. The pork belly is crispy on the outside and so good in the soup. I had forgotten they also include a hard boiled egg and I usually add jumbo shrimp and beef tenderloin. It's sooooo filling!

Vaping 11w (about the max on a Kabuki anyway) seemed like a waste on a 40w mod

I just don't get that logic. If you vape at 11W, what difference does it make what the mod is capable of, when both are delivering deadly accuracy so the experience is exactly the same? What kind of car do you drive, and how fast do you drive it? Chances are it's capable of at least 100MPH, but if you only drive 65MPH, isn't the rest "going to waste"? Bet you didn't sell your car because you don't drive it as fast as it can go.

A friend of mine melted his deck insulator using low res coils

He melted it because he used more than the recommended 20W.

17 watts would be about .29 amps over the limit Svoemesto set.

They didn't recommend an amp rating, because it's totally meaningless. People assume that lower resistance and higher amperage equals more heat - it doesn't. 20W of heat is 20W of heat, regardless of the resistance of the coil, or the current draw. Those factors only indicate how hot each mm of wire will get, how fast the coil will heat up (ramp-up time), etc., but the total amount of heat is the same at the same wattage.

I've read on a few sites that you can safely go to about .8 ohm with the KF4, although Svoemesto doesn't recommend going lower that 1.0. I plan on checking the deck after I finish the juice that's currently in the tank.

Wattage is all that matters. The reference to coil resistance is only for the mechanical mod users, where it directly affects the wattage applied to the coil. 1 ohm at 4.2V is 17.64W; 0.9 ohms at 4.2V is 19.60W; 0.8 ohms at 4.2V is 22.05W. You can see why they said 1 ohm, on a mechanical mod with a fresh battery.

I think I also mentioned that the Radius is a little brick, and that I also enjoy the simplicity of the 2.5s menu.

And I'm not going to buy a Porsche if all I do with it is make trips to the store at 30mph. Of course I know that the other 29w aren't "going to waste". I just prefer most of the other characteristics of the 2.5s to those of the Radius, and if I am not vaping over 11w, why exactly would I own one?

*cracks knuckles * types *

I might be the only who here who says it's just so so- not the awe inspiring mod others have lost their minds over.

The Radius/Kabuki combo just doesn't do it for me. I only had 1.8Ω coils so going to try some lower ones & see if that makes a difference; but I'd need it to make a huge difference.

Matter of fact, Im'ma change the coil right now. [emoji6]

Note 5!!!
I'd be interested in your opinion of the lower Ω coils. I assume 1.6Ω.

That is a beautiful combo!

I hate to be "that guy" and say this...
BUUUUUUUUT:
You really shouldn't fill the tank that full.
The vacuum/pressure system of a tank is acting on the air in the tank, not so much the juice.
This is why so many tank systems will warn you to only fill the tank to 80-90% full.
When you take a draw/drag/puff/hit, the vacuum of your hit, causes the air bubble in the tank to want to expand, thus "pushing" the juice into the wick/juice channels.
The air isn't really pushing on the juice, as much as it is just trying to get past the juice...like it's saying "Get out of my way juice! There's a low pressure area/vacuum (in the vaporization chamber, caused by you taking a hit), and I need to get there!"
So, back to my original point: I'd always recommend filling the tank about 90% of the way.
Sure, it may work when 99% full, but not as well as it does when it's 90% or less full!
This has been your moment of science and nerdiness!
