Well, I don't want to have to guess how to use "sleep mode". Is it automatic or do I have to push some buttons to get me there? Can't seem to find anything written on how this feature works.

It's automatic. You don't have to push anything :)

Thank you, rbrylawski. :) Also found out that if you are a chain vaper, the "sorta pass through" isn't going to work very well. From the manual, Page 10, "You can continue using the device while it's plugged in but the USB cable will not supply enough power to act as a pass-through, using your batter energy when you vape. When the device is idle, it will continue charging the cell inside." .........Which means I gotta set the thing down more than I vape on it to merely keep even! Ha! :)

Chooch -- all the "can be used as pass thru's" are that way. A "real" pass through doesn't have a battery at all and gets it's energy just from the mains.....and though they can be found, aren't around much these days. ProVape used to have a module that fit in the device instead of a battery and then plugged into car lighter or outlet, one of the very few vari pass through devices made.

Really?!?

Shheeez.

Thank you, Vape360 and tearose. :) Think I remember those "real" pass-through module doohickies on the ProVape web site in 2013/14?

Only makes sense to use the "pass through" when you only take a "toot" every quarter hr. or so; and if the battery is completely depleted, you're not going to be able to do even that. :)

Are you going to have to go out through a window to start digging out?
No, I got out out another door. Shoveled a path to the garage. And called it a night. It's very important, to get to the garage, beer fridge is there.

Today's Clue
Requires Group Participation
So Play Along
And Guess What's New

Embedded in the first few words are clues. Be creative and have some fun. Take the first part and add something creative, followed by dots. Whoever else would like to play can then take what was added and add more. Let's see where you take this!

@Vape360 - Thanks for the Radius firmware update. :)

I have a question which pertains to my second Radius I just received which of course works like a charm. See this pic:

View attachment 524651

What is that cooper colored ring with what looks like silicone in the center for? My other Radius, which was purchased at launch does not have this cooper colored ring. I'm not complaining :) but rather curious and don't want to jump to any conclusions which might trigger my expulsion from the "clan"

Thanks in advance
:)
I'm not 360, but I can answer your question. The copper color on the brass fitting, is from acid flux used while soldering. (a little too much). which explains the completely filled gas escape hole. Again, a little too much. In this case, solder. The excess can be easily removed, by either heating to remove some of the solder, or drilling a new hole thru it.

It looks like someone got into a bit of a hurry late in the Friday Shift, and had his or her mind on the time clock!

As this is a safety concern, (the hole is for venting gases), unless you are familiar with the processes to fix it, I would send her into Provape for repair. It can be dangerous as it is.

The soldering acid can be tricky as well. It can remain, although not seeable, and its fumes can cause corrosion in the device.

I use a solution in the shop of baking soda, and water to remove any unseen acid after soldering. But I do not work on electronics.

This an example of a soldering technique I developed, that makes the solder joint appear as one integral (Solid Piece of Steel) The Guard is 416SS, the Blade and thru tang are 154CPM High Speed SS, and the solder is 425 degree, lead free solder.

This leaves the look and impression of the blade and guard being heun from one solid piece of steel. It's incredibly strong. But if any soldering acid is left remaining, even inside the joint, it will ruin both the effect and strength over time.

This has been an Achilles Heal of fine Knifes for decades, if not centuries. Many Knife Makers are not using my process and techniques. which I openly shared.
