"$250 for another pair of shoes!?"
"But they were on sale."
My mother was famous for trying to explain to my father how much money she saved when something was on sale. It never worked.
We have an upstairs HVAC and a downstairs HVAC..and a wide open cathedral ceiling design so there is no separation of floors. I cannot begin to tell you how many times I told her that the two systems need to be on or off at the same time and same temperature settings. Think she believes me? Go upstairs and she has all the windows open. "But I turned off the furnace upstairs"Please!![]()

Before I talked the gas company to run natural gas lines through our neighborhood and we converted, we had propane heat. It was $3 gallon and cost $600+ month to heat our home in the the winter months (and we're in moderate temperatures). Some neighbors were paying $900/month. I kept the house cool. So you can imagine my sensitivity over HVAC issues.OK! YOU WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And sorry about that.

By the way, since converting to natural gas my bill is only $200/month. I pay about 30% of what I paid using propane...and I keep the house warmer too.
A month ago I had to replace the heat exchanger in the downstairs furnace ($1,600). I wondered if I could have gotten a couple/few more years out of it with better HVAC management.Because some days just CALL for AC & Heat combined.![]()

You are absolutely correct! Some questions are best left unanswered.
Some questions are best left not asked.
My wife is smart and its all in her delivery..."$250 for another pair of shoes!?"
"But they were on sale."
Did it fall under, "Your money is ours and my money is mine"?My wife is smart and its all in her delivery...
She got a big bonus at work a few years ago and told me she wanted to buy an expensive purse she always wanted.... I didn't realize I should have asked for clarification regarding what her definition of "expensive" was. I almost fell over when I saw her walk in the house with a huge Chanel box!I never realized one could pay so much for a bit of leather.

/sigh - No as she has someone periodically fill her tank to prevent that...as much as she drives, that is usually once a month....Does she do the same thing with gas in her car?![]()
Same thing as the gas - but I do try to make sure it is changed every 6 months - even if it only has 1K miles since the last oil change. Our dealer puts an additive to prevent any issues. Unfortunately, I'm starting to see the same issue with my car.I actually had almost the same thought (oil changes). GMTA.
We'd be screwed if we didn't have a gas can around for the lawnmower. My wife just takes my car and leaves me hers, with only fumes in the tank, that's how she fills her car up![]()
