I smell a mac version of the upgrade software in testing :shock:

Why, yes it is. :w00t:

I'm going to put this here for a heads up to Provape & other beta testers.

I have 2 Radiuses. When I first plugged them into the Mac update program it recognized them and read their serial numbers and current software version......
It also turned them both into "bricks" that would not turn on!!! :eek:

After I got my heart started again...... :blink:

I plugged them both back into the software update program and got them to reprogram back to their former glory.... that is, Version 20. It even held onto my settings such as wattage and button display colors. :thumb:

The only thing I noticed is that the update program itself no longer displays their respective serial numbers and version information. The Radiuses themselves do still display this information.

*edit: It did take a couple of attempts to get it to "see" the Vanish Radius before I could get it to reprogram after it initially wiped it.

Just to put everyone at ease, it's IMPOSSIBLE to brink a Radius. When it was not responding, it was just in programming mode. All you would have to do is remove the battery and reinstall and it would bring the device back out of programming mode.

If you were half way into programming and the power went out, the Radius would just need to be programmed again but it would never be in a mode where it's bricked and could not be programmed :)

If it isn't too late, matcas can have my spot as my son is away for a few days and tiefed my Mac!
That's very kind of you!

We are good on testing at the moment...The full release should be ready soon so hang tight. We just need to get the app verified with apple so it doesn't throw the security warning. Not sure how long they take, but the application has been submitted. I think once that happens you will be able to get the software from the app store.

Thanks for the clarification!

It's all good now! I realized it didn't really even totally wipe their programs or they wouldn't have "remembered" their settings. It just gave me a bad moment (or 2) and I wanted to say something before someone else scared the bajebers out of themselves. :shock:

My experience with the Beta Software was flawless.
The whole process took less than two minutes.

Any Mac radius users around today?
Yep, I'm a Mac user.

edit: well, I'm way late but it's great to see Macs acknowledged by Provape, and nice to meet all my fellow Mac users!

@Vape360

Wanted to take a moment to thank ProVape for working on making the Radius updatable on the Mac! :thumbs:

I can't begin to tell you how nice it will be to not have to impose on friends to be able to upgrade them!

@Vape360 ~

OK my Mac OS didn't meet the version requirement needed to beta test. Once the Mac version is ready for primetime, will it still need to be a particular OS X & above number in order to update a Radius?

I've been Googling for a few hours now & I see I'm just one in a long line of folks whose Mac cannot be updated (even though Apple says if can).

Hi Ms. LeX,

Yes, it requires OS X 10.11 or newer. I was told because the drivers for the programming chip were not available in earlier versions of OS X.
