Just wanted to check in. As the world of vaping moved forward, I have been using a Provari Mini with carto tanks last couple of years. I wanted an upgrade, mostly because of leaky carto tanks in hot weather, and came to the new members forum asking advice on whether to try P3 or Radius and what are recommended tanks. One member pointed out a great deal on a P3 so I bought a satin black one. The price was low enough that I just ordered the Radius with tank also. I like that I didn't have to chose between the two but now I'll have two new toys I haven't used before.
I have one question from a guy who only used carto tanks before: Is there a new online 'safe vaping' chart for recommended voltage and/or watts for use with atomizers? It sounds like people don't use the chart I was using and that they were made when cartomizers were more widely used?
Thanks for any guidance in advance with getting the best experience from my new purchase.

I still start with the chart, and increase to taste.

Welcome to the future of vaping!!!

I probably shouldn't .... in, since I don't know what tanks/resistance you are using. The Kabuki is the newest tank I bought and I just started at 9w. I would likely start anything new at 9w and go from there. I used to start at 8w, but I'm a big girl now. I don't use voltage with the P3, since the Radius is only watts and I don't want to think about power twice.

@siani_8 Which tank did you buy?

I am assuming it's a tank with a changeable cartridge, (often just called coil) that is built much like a pre-punched mini cartomizer. Though all the answers above are correct, especially on the ProVi safety part, there is often a power range that works best for these types of pre-made "coils", though I know of no chart. There are tons of variations on these "tanks" and their "coils", too, so there is also no one easy answer with out some more info -- which tank?

As a carto user for some years, I found it easy to transition to the Nautilus and Kabuki tanks and prefer them. I use them at much the same power levels as I did my carto's -- though they can certainly be used at higher levels than a carto, with most liquids, should one choose. Anything with the name "sub" in it -- is a very different story.

You got a P3 and a Radius -- how nice! :thumb: I love them both.

I just hate it when I miss all the ruckus.
What did Valkyrie post (approximately, since it obviously can't be posted again, LOL.)

Sop my nieces birthday is coming up and she really wants another ProVari because the TPD will be hitting us in May so we decided to buy one for her. A Dutch web shop has the Radius Graphite Stealth edition and she likes how it looks but she wants to be able to see the LED for when it's done charging. It the button on this particular model completely black or a translucent black?

Have you looked at the ProVape site? There is no standard "Graphite Stealth," however that combination could be put together in the customized Radius. You need to find out from the vendor what exactly they have for sale, since the description (so far it appears) is vague. Buttons are customizable too: they can be regular (clear), have jewels or be solid black, so you'll have to ask them about that too.

Customize Your ProVari Radius

I have the older version of the Radius, so mine doesn't show it's charging. I have to press the button to see where it's at. The newer versions show charging, but I don't know if the button shines or the screen.

Lemwise, I'm Radius-less and answer-less, but it's also the middle of the nite in most of the US. I'm sure in a short while, East Coasters will be up and posting and hopefully be able to give you some klues. :)

Here's a picture of the model they have. It looks like a translucent black but I could be mistaken. I just thought I'd ask here because they usually take their time to answer.

That's a custom combination: Black onyx body with graphite metal. You'll have to ask the vender directly what style button was ordered or it came with.

ETA: That picture looks like it was lifted from the ProVape site, which is notorious for colors being inaccurate.

A stupid song she/he knew would be deleted. It's on youtube: I blanked __ __ _____, by Nocturnal _________. They wanted to see how long it would stay up, then use the deletion as proof the ECF members/mods are uptight and control freaks. Provari hate has mutated into ECF hate, although ProVari owners are still hated most of all.

That unit can be ordered with a blacked out button, clear button, or CZ button...

I got an answer from the vendor and this one has a completely black button. I asked my niece what she wants and she really doesn't want a completely black button which I can understand. I wouldn't want it either. The only other Radius they have in stock is the ghost white and I don't even have to ask if she'd like that one.

I ended up buying Nautilus with the P3 and the Kabuki from Provape when I ordered the Radius. Then I went back online and bought a nautilus mini with blue glass replacement to use instead of my custom R2-D2 etched blue pyrex carto tank I had been using from Phiniac on my R2-D2 wrapped Provari Mini. :).

I feel like I might be set for a little bit. Thanks for all the help everyone. It is nice to hear the vaping chart is still a good start. I don't know if I want to be all about sub ohm and such yet. Just having a nicer tank and some instrument upgrades might be just perfect for me atm

wait, there's Provari hate? why? Should I cancel my purchases? jk I'm not gonna cancel.

I do have one more question. If I ever wanted to try this sub ohm vaping is there an online chart of recommended voltages and such or do I have to do math?

Already ordered the Cabernet red with the translucent sleeve and a Kabuki from a shop in Germany. That should be enough to skip buying her a present for the next couple of years :D
