**preliminary mega pcc testing results**

So far I have charged 2 batteries, both 78mm. Both took 4 hours 15 mins before pcc said they were done. Both took an additional 15 mins on the USB charger.
PCC has 2 blue lights now, so I suppose it will take another 2 batteries before it needs recharging. I just don't have another needing charging yet, so I'll continue tomorrow.

4.5 hours isn't going to win any speed records :p but it's better than nothing when a USB or wall charger isn't available

Thanks for the report! Any chance you have the regular pcc to compare times? Or anyone else know...?

I don't get it. There's a lime... I see that. And a coconut.

So... does the lime go in the coconut...?

;)
You put the lime in the coconut and vape it all up you put the lime in the coconut and vape it all up you put the lime in the cooconut and vape it all up.

I do, and I will. Takes a little while because I don't have 8 dead batteries sitting here to charge, so I need to run them down using 'em first. Also want to compare times to USB & wall charger, so this might take all week!

Thanks a bunch for that data, it's very close to what I'm getting.

Freshly charged mega-pcc, put in one 78mm battery, takes 4hrs 15min to charge. But sticking the battery on my usb charger shows it's not done charging yet. Takes 40 minutes to finish charging, so that's 4hrs 45min total.

The slider-type smart pcc takes one 78mm battery 4 hrs to charge and is fully charged.

Freshly charged mega-pcc, put in one 65mm battery. Took 3hrs 5min to charge and is fully charged.

The slider-type smart pcc takes one 65mm battery 2hrs 15min to charge.

Freshly charged mega-pcc, put in two 65mm batteries at the same time. Finished charging one in 3hrs 10min and that battery indeed was fully charged. The other one finished in 3hrs 25min but was not fully charged, took an additional 40min on my USB charger to finish charging.

So yeah, the mega-pcc has issues in my book. One thing that bugs me is that when I looked at the internal mega-pcc battery, it says it is 3.7V 4.81Wh (watt-hours). I know battery watt-hours are not exactly a linear measurement and these are lithium polymer not lithium ion, but that seems to infer this is a 1300mA battery, not 1500mA as spec'd by the manufacturer. But they're probably spec'ing it using a voltage-amperage decay equation. I know, I know, TMI!

Anyone else have some more data on this?

Anyone have prob with manual batt
Got my order today, auto hits very smoothly, love the tip feel. Have a prob with manual. Lights on button press, but no affect on cartos, and does not light on charger. Seems that post is up high enough and contacting carto. Any ideas? Already posted a ticket and am sure they will resolve it, just hoping to fill some of these blanks and use that manual! Thanks.

This prob quickly resolved via a ticket with SI, replacement on the way. Fast customer service! But still looking for a quick home fix? Anyone, ideas?

Okay - Here goes . . .

I got my "NEW" Volt PCC yesterday. The first thing I did was plug the PCC in and immediately saw that it was not fully "charged" (only 2 Blue Lights on, next one flashing & last one black). It took 4 hours and 50 mins. Once the PCC was charged, tested again and all lights came on flashing then stopped. Took 2 of the new batteries I just received from Volt, and although I didn't think the batteries need to be fully charged I put the 2 - 75 batteries in the charger the 2 bottom lights - came on (red – My BAD, they actually needed charging) and the batteries started to charge at the same time . . . Took 10 minutes for one to finish charging (red light turned off) and the other took 1 hour to charge. When these finished, I inserted 2 - 68 batteries - at the same time, once again the red lights came on and the PCC started to charge the batteries. This time it took approximately 1 1/2 Hours to charge both batteries.

Checked the Mega PCC this morning and of course it need to be recharged, 2 blue lights and 1 flashing - it took 1 Hour & 40 mins. Well, that’s it from here . . . Hope, this information helps, especially “SteelJan” with her evaluation process.

New Voltie here-finally got my 5 posts on the newbie forum, so I can post here! I love my volt. I have 4 batteries-2 manual and 2 automatic. I have my red colored endcap on my red battery with Rye 4 in it-makes it easy to remember. I've been smoke-free for about a month now. Anyways, just wanted to say hi and stop lurking!

Anyone else have some more data on this?

Not data per se, but perhaps some input. Just got my PCC today, put on to charger and started a stopwatch, so nothing there yet.

Looking at the little sticker on the front of the new PCC it is supposed to output 4.2V @ 200mA charging current (same as listed on my older 808D "clam shell" PCC). Plugged that into the charging calculator at Battery Charge Time Calculator for a 280mAh battery... depending on efficiency that should charge a 78mm battery in between 1.5 and 2 hours (which is consistent with my results from the clam shell PCC).

Change the output in the calculator to 100mAh charging current and the times lean closer to 3 to 4 hours (which seems consistent with reports on the new PCC so far).

My bet is that continued investigation will confirm this new PCC isn't living up to its specs.

Vape on!! :)
Thanks achtungbaby. I tried to do the signature. I just don't know what to type in the boxes on the bottom. I need to read back several pages. I know someone already posted how to do it. It's hard when you're older and have to self-teach yourself computer stuff-LOL
