Okee-dokie fellow Volties, here's my review of the Mega-PCC (Mega-Portable Charging Case)

Another great review "SteelJan" and seems to explain a lot of what I might have experienced this past week . . .

Since the Mega PCC is the only way for me to charge my Volt batteries, I took it with me while I was away for the week . . . AND Boy was it convenient to bring the batteries and extra "cartos" through TSA & on the plane (and that's the reason why I wanted the Mega PCC - for the convenience, especially to charge batteries while on the road with no access to an outlet and carry the "cartos" I might need for the whole day ) . . . Matter of fact, like most people have mentioned here, when my Friends saw everything and that I was trying to stop smoking finally with this equipment - not only were they flabbergasted & amazed I was, the other smokers I know became quite interested in learning more about "eCigs" & "vaping" themselves . . .

However - WOW - Now, although I am not "vaping" all day or found my "WOW" Flavor of juice yet, I understand why I never get a fully charged battery or was only able to "vape" for a couple of hours at a time with one battery - it may also explain why the 2 manual batteries I have kept intermittently miss-firing for me . . .

OH Boy - Now I don't know what to do, especially since the pro kit I just got did not come with a "wall wart" only the Mega PCC . . . AND SI is already kind enough and in the process of exchanging the 2 manual batteries, but now this . . .

GEES - I know there is a learning curve and everything . . . And without a doubt I don't believe this is SI fault at all (like you said - people asked them to get this one) . . . BUT now what . . . I can't just keep buying more stuff to replace something that doesn't work like it is supposed to . . . DO I submit another request for an exchange - and if I do for what? . . . I really need something I can carry around with me when I'm out all day or go away for a week at a time and that is convenient to use . . . Or do I wait till SI develops/creates a better PCC (that can also be as convenient as the Mega) . . . Anyone, got any suggestions . . .

AND - "SteelJan" is there a way for this PCC to be modified to work properly . . .

P.S. And No - before anyone asks, I did not lose it - there are No "emoticons" in this post since this is a serious issue, at least - for me . . . Well - Okay, just one :D . . .

I'm glad I got the slider, too. It was beginner's luck. All your reviews of Volt products have been favorable till this one. I think they should hire you to test their products before they decide to carry them. But I guess that would conflict with your impartiality as a reviewer, right?

Well, I knocked the SmartPCC in my first Volt review because of the limited number of battery recharges per case charge and because I cannot tell if it will charge or fully charge the next battery or not. But then when I got into the habit of leaving the SmartPCC plugged in and swapping batteries in & out of it, then grabbing it to go out, I learned to love it. :)

As for ever getting paid to test products, yeah, I want to remain cleanly and clearly impartial, because I only have one goal, to help smokers find the best e-cig to help them stop smoking. I'm extra hard on SmokelessImage Volt products because right now I think SI and Volt are the "gold standard" both the products and the customer service. This Mega-PCC does not deserve a Volt logo, I'm glad it doesn't have one, and that SmokelessImage is striving to come out with their own great PCC.

AND - "SteelJan" is there a way for this PCC to be modified to work properly . . .

Well, I cannot tell you for certain because I have not tried it. I was initially thinking that a higher mAh battery in this case would make it work like a champ. I still think it might work better even with the current-limiting, but the cheapest I could get a bigger battery, even on ebay, would be $13.00 and have to wait for it to come from China (argh). Plus the feedback when I first threw out this idea is that nobody would want to clip out their old battery and solder in a new one.

However, I have another idea. I've got a portable USB charger that has an internal 5000mAh battery. I'm going to experiment with the Mega-PCC connected to it, to measure and see what happens. I'm even going to take apart this USB charger and see if it's internal battery is compatible with the Mega-PCC, to see if I can swap it out. Will keep you posted.

Hey Steal.... would it even make a difference if the charger had a bigger batt considering the internals that limit the supply of volts / mah to the volt batts?

What I got was the starter kit that had the slider, and with it came a USB thingie that you can screw a battery into and then put in your computer to charge one battery. I got the small batteries. Then I bought a wall charger in addition so I could charge the slider PCC with another battery in it.

I'm not traveling, and I don't vape as much as some, but I really like the little slider. I carry 2 charged batteries, one screwed into the PCC and the other with a carto on it. I vape the one with the carto, and should that run out, then I can put the carto on the other battery. What to do if the carto runs out? I haven't confronted that one yet. Yes, it sure would be nice to have a slider that would hold an extra carto.

I will have to run a charge time test on my Mega. I have 2 that I use (don't always know when I'm going to be home to charge) I haven't had a problem. They do take what seems like forever to charge a batt, but I get several hours of life of the Mega charge, and that's if I chain vape which always happens when spending 4-6 hours a day in the car. I have 2 batteries in each at all times (and can get up to 4 batteries charged off one fully charged pcc)and 1 or 2 charged in my purse. I had a 1 batt Pcc (not the slider) and I hated it. This was the best solution for me. How many hours do most of you get from a fully wall-charged 78mm as opposed to the Mega Pcc (those of you that have them) since getting mine, the only problem i have is remembering to charge the pcc. Lol.

See....this is why we need our own thread!! I make wraps for batts but only for Voltans.!!! not charging of coarse... as busy as I am now, I'm afraid of been bombarded with orders and I do not wanna be a supplier on ECF. not now, I'm having to much fun here:) HA!, Could I be the manufacture for SI's batt wraps??:p

Looks Great!!! But I see some conflict between these posts ;-) Or are you just being a tease :p Might there be some possibility for trading here...I've got some extra 555 cartos sitting around and some bare looking batteries

Seriously, I'd be interested to know how you're doing these custom wraps. Seem to remember you saying you're in the sign biz, which would make sense.

DM posted how to do it on here but was quite a few posts ago. Look up his posts and should be able to find it. :2cool:
