I'd be game, but I "Imagine" that would be up to SI. I don't have black vinyl to make it look even remotely like it originally did. But if they're looking for someone who'd want to adopt it, I don't have a passthrough for the Volt. Wonder if it even still works ...

Come to think of it: I'm quite certain that DM's special skills would leave me choking in the dust. He's a pro - I'm just a hack. If anyone were to be allowed to tackle the task of the "Mangled Passthrough Makeover", it should be DM.

First - GOOD MORNING ! - Everyone . . . View attachment 51100

Second thing is this - IMO - Yes, without a doubt, I agree with you that "DM" is a "Pro" and has also shown us some great stuff . . . However, with what you have shown us I do think you are just as qualified and NOT a "hack" at all . . .

And Lastly - I wasn't thinking of you "fixing" it to it's original condition, but to see what you could do to "Glam-i-fy" (if that is even a word) the thing . . .

SO, even with that being said, back to "Mangled Passthrough Makeover" (BTW, really like that "title") . . . I think it would be interesting to see what either You or "DM" could do with your talents to this "mauled" piece of equipment to make it whole again, especially if it still works - I would hate to see it just go to waste or thrown out . . .

Oh yeah - Bondo is the pits to work with! My son dropped our refrigerator down a hill when we were moving, and the dern thing had the temerity to still work. That meant I was stuck with a refrigerator with a HUGE dent in the front. So my son Bondo'd the dent, I spray-painted the fridge black with appliance paint, and I put black marble shelf paper panels up the front. Yes - I used shelf paper - lol. Everyone loves the fridge now.

But - Back on topic: I bow to your superior experience in the field, and obvious mad skills. Just don't try going head to head with me in the wildlife art arena! LMBO.

Awww - you're just a Sweetheart Uncle. And, if "glamify" is not a word then it certainly should be! Can't you just imagine our sweet Imagine puffin' away on that ugly thang whilst patiently, tirelessly dealing with us Volties and our endless requests? If so, then one of us should glamify that gawdawful thing for her. :vapor:

Twilight Zone
1st Send it to either SteelJan or Vapian to repair or check out the electronics and put it in top notch working condition.
2nd Send it to DM for the body work but leave one small identifying mark.
3rd Send it to Rave for some wildlilfe artwork.
4th Send it back to the original owner with a note. "Sorry but we can't find any reason to replace this as it seems to be working fine."

Oh Jeez - It reallllly doesn't photograph well. I never did take a photo of the fridge with the dent before I "modded" it. You can see the chip on the handle that I vowed to fix with Plummer's Putty one day ... and haven't. The dent was below where you get the ice and water in the left door.

Now that's what I call a creative and resourceful piece of work. It really looks great Rave. Most would have either thrown it out or lived with the dent. Actually it looks good enough to have done it even if it didn't have a dent. Kinda like decorating the batteries.

Well, Thank you very much! Don't even ask me about how I got carried away (as usual) and modded the microwave (old, ugly, and too stubborn to die) and a crock pot (70's avacado green - YIKES!). FYI - Don't ever try to use shelf paper on a crock pot. NOT a good plan.

:?: HEY - NOW . . . None of this - Can't be tellin' people that ! ! ! View attachment 51109
I DEMAND you remove that description from your post - NOW ! ! ! :glare:

YEP View attachment 51110 - on both your comments . . . "Glamify" should be a word, especially since You and "Laurae09" do it so well, and then there is "lolady" with all the jewels she talks about putting on hers . . .

AND, I would absolutely love to see it done - then see "Imagine" (or anyone for that matter) just "Vaping" away on it . . .View attachment 51113

Rave - that fridge looks AWESOME, maybe I could do that to my damn stainless steel one that I hate so much. Told the hubby.....no stainless steel, and what did I get........ARGH! Sometimes I don't clean it for a week just so he see's how EVERYTHING shows on it:)

Can't wait for the batts to show up on the site and feel so bad for Imagine and those having to sort through all of them.

Ooh, I LOVE the yella batt! It's my favorite! I dress like a beatnik/ninja all the time (all black) and it makes me feel like BRUCE LEE!

Seriously? LOL

My new batts just came in the mail. I love the yella too! Also got a pink and a purple. I already had sky blue. Laying together on my desk they look like Easter Eggs. Now I need more colors, to fill my "basket"

Thanks Laurae09! And also, thanks for the tip on stainless steel fridges. In the back of my mind I always figured that I'd get one when mine bites the bullet.

Agreed on feeling bad for the SI crew having to sort all of those batteries. What a royal pain! :(

Awww shucks Keelala - You're makin' me blush.
Let's just say that I'm "compulsively creative". If any of you are interested, or just really, really bored waiting for those batts to appear on the website, check out "A Few of my Paintings" album on my profile page. Just a sampling.

I totally agree!! Now I wanna cover up my fridge:)
That marble look is way cool!....
You probably have all kinds of cool vinyls that you could choose from! Way more than I have access to. I bought that black marble about a century ago, but the same stuff is on eBay.

Now - back to our regularly scheduled programming ...
