This conversation is cracking me up - I will have to take a picture of the way my setup looks after I get into it for a few days - like Cindycated said, I get some funky color combinations going, and on top of that I tend to chew and peel my cartos ( you know how that thin plastic film starts to lift at the corners? I can't help myself) so they end up with the black peeled off and white showing through and bite marks peppered all over the ends.....I vape ugly

You're right: It doesn't look great side by side with the chrome batt, but it would look very nice with any of the other colors. Nope, not interested in splitting a roll. I like my black cartos - especially with the gold on black flavor labels on 'em. The only stainless carto I have is my flavor tester carto. Thanks for the offer though. :)
Yeah, you're right. I pulled out my naked, polished cartos and decided that I really like them better in black too! So I'm putting my $30 in the P-Touch fund so I can have cool cartos too, just like you! :)
Thanks for talking me out of the metalized film stuff, everybody!

And yes, I soak in vodka and dump them into an ultrasonic cleaner (3 cycles with vodka, 3 cycles with water, then rinse under the tap), and haven't boiled in awhile, but sometimes you get some stubborn flavors in there that just don't want to come out any other way - those taste a little fresher to me after a boil. I've also tried water-flushing with an oral syringe (much like Vapian's method) and didn't like how they turned out - so I guess that one's just not for me. But that's not to say that it doesn't work for most people. I'm just the oddball, I guess.

That just cracked me up! But, no, I don't know what you mean about the thin plastic film lifting at the corners. The only thing that I can imagine is that mine don't do that because:
#1 P-Touch label is binding the bottom part of the sticker so it doesn't lift, and
#2 Maybe the top isn't doing it because I use drip tips, so my mouth isn't touching it?

Dunno. Weird. My black stickers don't peel.

On the face of the Volt slider PCC there is a thin protective film, if you work at it you can peel that film off and you reveal a very shiny face. They use this on phones, touch panels, etc.

when I saw peeled and corners in the sentence I was thinking the PCC...sorry:D

There is one method that I've come up with to exorcise even strong flavors and stains out of cartos. I think I probably already posted this, but I repeat myself sometimes. (Maybe I'm an oddball too)

After I blow out the vast majority of the eliquid, I use the Vapian Cartomizercleaninator (did I get that right?) to wash out as much eliquid as possible with plain hot water. Then I put them all in a bowl with warm water and drop in one or two Polident tablets (depending on how many cartos I'm cleaning). There are several types. I choose the Overnight rather than the 3 Minute, and I go with non-mint tablets. In the morning, I rinse them out again with the Cartomizercleaninator, blow out as much water as I can, and prop them up at an angle in a sunny window sill for a couple of days. The angle allows for air movement and evaporation. Even coffee, cinnamon, and menthol come out, and the filling is a white as it can possibly be.

Polident is also great for getting the tomato sauce stains out of tupperware and stains out of reusable plastic drinking bottles. Don't judge me - It works!!

I believe she was talking about the stickers on the cartos, not the slider.

Here, there, everywhere!
Well this little girl is tired but the 50th wedding anniversary party for my in-laws went off without a hitch! Great time playing washers, visiting, watching my race guy get frickin 2nd after he lead most the damn race, getting a moody tired 9 year old to bed and two friends showing up right at 11:00 as everyone was leaving....love 'em but really.....lol! Seriously I love it when friends are comfortable enough to just come by:). One is REALLY drunk and fighting with his wife...LOL!

Hope everyone is having an awesome weekend and please take a moment of silence tomorrow in remembrance!

By the way did you realize today is 9-10-11.

Don't worry, Samurai - I'll stick up for you! (Banzaiiiii!) Mine have been peeling off at the seam, not just the corners, no matter how many times I try to burnish it back down. But I just turn it slightly so I don't notice/feel/touch it, because otherwise, I'd be picking at it too!

My son and I watched "102 Minutes That Changed America" last night in remembrance. He was an early teen when all of this went down, and so he'd been pretty oblivious. This documentary makes you feel as if you're right in the middle of it as it was happening, and is like getting kicked in the gut. Very haunting.

Does all this talk about mylar, p tape etc mean that others have made their cartos more colorful?
For the most part, we've just been playing with battery skins (sometimes with matching carto skin). Differenciating cartos has been mostly with colored end caps or drip tips or P-Touch labels.

My daughter is going to set up a meet at my place with a dear friend of hers that wants to quit analogs. He's said he's ready to try PV's but is clueless about where to start. I'll give him a Volt demo, help him put together a new order to suit his needs, and probably loan him temporary equipment to last until his arrives. :)
