OK, I should have said: something found naturally in one's haircolor.

So, I have a story about this that I'll share. If you don't want to read it, skip on..
My first year teaching, I was responsible for placing EMS students in various ER's in the area. I pointed out in the syllabus that it said, "hair of a color found in nature" during the orientation lecture. I got a call on Saturday moringn from the ER director that a student was being sent home, and could I please come there to discuss. When I arrived, one of my little darlings was sitting in her office with a 6 inch fully spiked blue mohak. When I confronted him about the inapproprateness of coming to clinical with his hair in such a state, his only defence was ... "but blue is found in nature!". So needless to say the syllabus now says "color found on natural hair". The student, will complete his resiency and graduate from UTMB this May as an Emergency Physician, so I guess he's grown up a little.
It's the little things...

Rave,
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Please keep posting these. It's like I'm getting to enjoy fall for the first time in my life. I've never seen trees turn (I'm a Houston native, and been here my whole life).
Wonderful.....
I'll post warm Mexico pictures in January... ;)

I have never understood how hair color or style affects job performance. I have seen 80 year olds with mohawks as well....How do we ever expect to get over cultural or racial differences if we cant even get past hair color. To each their own I guess.

one misspelled word in the whole thing! LOL Actually Cholinergic antagonists, would be the same as Anticholinergic, or parasympatholytic.
fingers not as fast as brain. Sorry.

It's the compulsive proofreader in me. I've done some scientific proofreading in my past. I may not know what it all means, but I sure know how to spell it and break the words at the end of the line correctly. I do know enough to know cholinergic is the adjective for choline. Not that I have any idea what choline is. That was up to whoever was writing the thing.

Actually - Thank You Meddog. I was feeling pretty silly about posting these pictures. I mean, you folks are out and about all day, and you know what trees look like. Most probably you've seen much prettier scenes than these this fall. But I haven't been away from my home in over two weeks. I was going to go out today, but my bod is not cooperating. This is my world. It takes my breath away, and I just wanted to share it with my friends.

I think there may be an element of following the rules instead of bucking them. And if you are dealing with the public who may be repelled or frightened by a blue mohawk, then it's a good idea to look comforting, safe, and responsible. As much as we may not like it, the world does judge a book by its cover. If he wanted to work in a music store, he'd probably look cool. If he was in a Wall Street office, maybe not. The world requires that we dress the part, whether we like it or not.

I'm enjoying the shots, too. We get fall foliage here, but it's pretty poor this year. We had a lot of rain, and one minute it seemed ready to peak, and the next, the leaves were on the ground. There are some places that still look good, though. Driving to the barn yesterday, there was a lovely scene with a plowed field in the foreground, then a cornfield, all brown, and behind that a farmhouse and barn with colorful trees behind that. Maybe today on my way to visit Penny, I'll pull over to the side of the road and try to get a good photo to share.

I really enjoy them. One of my all time favorite things is watching the seasons change, it gives me a chance to watch from a place I wouldn't normally get to. Be sure to post more as winter comes.

I agree with you on the rules, if that was the deal made, then you must adhere to your agreement.

We only see suits on Wall Street because we are taught that "Those people" wear suits or that salary/pay rate should dictate fashion. I find it baffling that people will accept food or beverages from the less sterotypically normal looking person where those are the people that you need to have trust in the most, but they will not work with them in an office.

And your friends appreciate your posting them. You've really got an awesome place to live. Around here we've only got one or two trees that lose their leaves in winter, the primary one being the Turkey Oak. But it goes straight from green to brown and the leaves fall off. Everything else stays pretty much green including the grass unless we get several killing frosts. I used to enjoy watching the color change around Tulsa and up in the Ozarks but come December couldn't wait to get back to Florida lol.

Yes! Please do take some pics. Traveling is one thing that I really miss, and I'd love to see other places around the country!

It's the little things...

Glad he made it though and "grew up" - it only speaks of "Your" proficiency as an "Instructor/Professor" - especially their ability to "Learn" from you . . . View attachment 59069

However, I hope you find this interesting and just as an FYI - you're going to have to change that "statement" in that syllabus of yours again, because I happen to know very well that "Blue" is found in "Natural" Hair color not just "on," more specifically - the color "Blue" is an undertone and/or part of the color spectrum of "Black" hair:

Black hair is the darkest and most common of all human hair colors globally. It is a dominant genetic trait, and it is found in people of all backgrounds and ethnicities. It has large amounts of eumelanin and is less dense than other hair colors. Black hair is known to be the shiniest of all hair colors. Black hair can be slightly rufous, soft black, or blue-black. Sometimes black hair can appear to shine silver-blue in the sun.[1] In English, black hair is sometimes described as "jet-black" or "raven black". The range of skin colors associated with black hair is vast, ranging from the palest of skin tones to an olive complexion to dark skin. Black-haired humans can have dark or light eyes. Black hair - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

P.S. Also, as another FYI: the reason why I know this kind of stuff - before I became a Social Worker and Counselor - My major previous profession was . . . Get Ready for this. . . since 1972 when I got out of High school I have worked as a Hairstylist/Colorist and I hold 4 different State Licensees in Cosmetology  . . .

Now isn't that ironic, to go from working on the "outside of the head" to the "inside of the head" View attachment 59071

Isn't it - WONDERFUL - how we keep sharing information ! ! ! Well at least - I hope it is :)
