So.......... I am enjoying my passthrough, and then I see steeljan's response to my post that I shoudn't be running it out of the computer? When I first got it - just a week ago, I tried using the Volt wall adaptor and it didn't work. Doesn't work on any of my other usb wall adaptors either. But, it works great out of the usb2.0 port of my computer.

Should I be worried? Will it fry my computer? And, why doesn't it work with the Volt adaptor?

I'm a new Voltie guy, but not a voltage guy.

It's not advisable if you have a lot of USB stuff. Nowadays, everything is USB, but to safegaurd your PC from "Murphy", you may consider a powered USB hub (has wall-wart power) which are dirt cheap from Amazon. I run mine off the USB in an added-on memory stick/usb/sata thing that I put in the drive bay but as it also runs off the mobo usb power...well....I need a hub too. The new wall-wart adapters on the site (the 1.5a ones near the top of the page) WILL fire the passthrough. I'm just waiting on payday! On the USB hubs, I posted a couple links (and so have a few others) earlier in the thread. Do a search for "hub" in this thread and they should come up.

Maybe this will help, it's the video review I did of the Volt passthrough. In the video, I talk about what to use to power the passthrough and make some suggestions:

One of the other suppliers got a forum and didn't have but 1/4 of the posts that we have here. If there's a waiting list, then sumpin'zup cuz they got theirs a couple weeks ago.

Yeah, I noticed that too . . . really surprised me, the lightning speed with which that vendor (albeit she is a GOOD vendor) got her own subforum!

I'm having a serious problem. I just dropped one of my long manual Volts, and now it doesn't work. Like a 3 foot drop onto hardwood. The LED still lights up, but nothing is happening on the cart end(i did check other carts with the batt). Is there any way to open it up any maybe fix it? I'm so screwed, i only have that one and a auto.

edit:
I opened the led cap, and the chip seems to be dislodged, should i try pushing it back in?

Thanks anyway Sec. (we pm'd)

Sec is a awesome person, he offered to ship me a spare battery. Unfortunately, we are on opposite sides of the country. If we lived closer together he wouldve saved me lol. Thanks Sec!

Man, i really dont want to have to go back to analogs.. Fixing the battery is looking hopeless now, and it looks i will have to rush order a inferior battery from somewhere local. But even with that..

ugh i feel depressed now

tbh, i think SI is better off not having their own forum section. When i first came here to research how to start vaping, i didnt even look at any of those supplier forums, way too many of them. Any of the guides for newbies are too vague and unbiased to pick a PV from. So i ended up coming to this subforum, saw the 1000+ thread, randomly checked out some pages, all happy customers, bam, now im a volt user. This thread is powerful. The other vendors that make threads for every announcement are doing it wrong.

I was looking at becoming an affiliate of Smokeless Image. When creating an account, it asks for your SSN. I’m a little hesitant to give out my SSN. Why is this necessary? Should I be nervous about giving this out? How is that information stored in their database? I had a family member get their identity stolen and it destroyed their credit report. It happened almost 2 years ago, and they are still trying to get everything fixed on their record. It is a HUGE ordeal to appeal or dispute something on your credit report.

Has anyone else had concern giving out this info? I’m hesitant to sign up for the program and give out my SSN, than never actually generate any sales/commission. Then take that risk for no reason.

Could the mods maybe make this thread a sticky instead in the mean time? I'm new to the forums, why is there a waiting list? Do you know what position SI is at on the list?
