Here, there, everywhere!
Im a firm believer in the do un to others saying. If they come across my threshhold, thats their intention and i have 3 methods of dealing with them. First is a .44 mag Desert Eagle, also with lazer sight, second is .40S&W Assault carbine with tac light and 3 round burst fire rate. lastly is the Mossy 500 tac with an extended 10 round tube. The 44 and the 40 are both useing Black Talon ammo that some is bought and some i have reloaded before they made them not so legal to have due to the teflon coating that penetrates body armor(and the fact the rounds make a 6 inch exit wound). The Shotty has whats called doorbusters in it, shot shell with 2 big solid balls of steel packed in them. I really feel bad for the unlucky person who decides to take that step in.

Reason so armed, had the unfortunate encounter of a carjacker try to drive off with my wife and kids in the car about 9 years ago. Needless to say, it didnt end well for him, and i still have chilling dreams about it. I still believe i made the right choice, hands down.

Harry

NO ONE and I mean NO ONE should have to make a choice like that but you had to and you did.

Sorry you had to go through it but I have no doubt you made the right choice.

Sick people in this world - have to take care of yourself and family.

SPeaking of - some lady here in MO is in jail right now accused of slitting her 9 month old babies throat - WTF. Sometimes I believe in an eye for an eye and this case is one of them personally.

I bought SI because of many great reviews including this one. Smokeless Image Volt Review - The Chainsaw Test? - YouTube By SteelJan, where she explains why the SI horizontal carto is better than the rest (This is NOT the carto I got with my order). In another video (I can't find at the moment) SteelJan makes a comparison to another 'horizontal' coil. This other sub par carto is just a vertical coil turned on its side with a sliced inner tube over it. (This is what I got)

I kept getting a burnt taste, new carto/new liquid, didn't know why, this is supposedly difficult to do with the horizontal SI carto.... so I took a carto apart and found the vertical coil on its side with a sliced tube jammed over it.

I found the video, this is the “horizontal” coil I have on my cartos. The 'sneaky factory' fake horizontal coil.

Anyone else have an issue with the battery fitting in the v2 PCC? On mine the door would not close with the battery installed, so I tried pushing down on it with a little force and closing the door, only to break off the plastic tabs on the door. I am wondering if I just got a dud or if its a known issue. I emailed them just now asking the same thing. Its really ashame because this thing rocks. Holds exactly what I have been looking for for a long time.

Starsong posted this

Got my new PCC today (yay). It is charging now. It is pretty, nice size/shape, isn't flimsy, and doesn't smell funny (trust me, that's important).

I had trouble getting the battery pack in the back - couldn't close the slider cover - and ended up breaking off one of the little tabs Turns out I didn't push the battery in enough for it to snap into place. Once I did then the cover went on fine. So I broke it within 5 minutes of opening it (waaaa!). However it does close and seems to work so no biggie (I hope).
So hopefully if anyone else has a similar problem, learn from my error.

They are very similar, if you look at the SI one you should see there is white adhesive at the bottom of the white center tube. This holds it in place, the cheaper ones lack the adhesive, making it move around more.
I have had a bad tasting carto from time to time, but in most cases it was because they were under filled, or the liquid is to thick. If your using thick liquid, try letting it sit over night. Also I have had some that I thought were filled but when I took them apart I found there were dry spots in the filler, condom fill method seems to help with this.
Hope this helps some. Sorry your having issues with this :( They really are a great carto.

My carto looks exactly like the second video I posted, and nothing like the first.

I want this to work out, I really do. I don't mean to be negitive either, I'm just having problem after problem.

I know it can be frustrating, there's just such a learning curve compared to lighting up. Hang in there, you'll get it.
One thing that might help is until you get a better feel for them, buy pre filled. They have way fewer problems (because they are already saturated), and if you get the more mild flavors you can refill them with just about any flavor.

Edit to add: Can you post a photo of it?
Also I would contact CS, I'm sure they can answer any questions you have.

I think it depends on the flavors of juice you are using too. I filled one the other day with plain ole vanilla from from another vendor and it immediately tasted burned. And I did the condom method when filling. After trial and error.. I realized it was the juice that had a burned flavor, not the carto. 2 cartos wasted because I thought it was them. UGH.

For you to have so many problems, I have a hard time believing its the Volt. Once you get it all figured out, I think you will actually love the Volt.

Ok, I thought the tube was supposed to be pressed over the coil (not sliced). Filler was all wet, no dry spots.

The tube is split and pressed to the base. The split is to allow the wick material to soak up the liquid from the filler, but the coil (the wire) does not touch the filler.

In looking at the photo, am I correct in assuming this is not a freshly filled carto? The wick and coil looks like they have had some use. The bad taste could just be because the coil has junk on it. When they have that taste it's either time to clean it or use a new one. What liquid was used with it?

Time for me to go to work, I'm sure someone else will come along that can be of help if needed. I'll check back in later.
Good Luck, hope every thing works out for you.

Brianphrack, the cartos from SI are made just as Steeljan described them; horizontal coil on the bottom, with the tube pressed down on top of it. Sometimes I take the filler out of an old carto to use it like an atty for testing new liquids, and that's what I see down inside of it.

A while back I got a carto that tasted burnt, no matter what I did to make sure it was saturated with liquid. It's the only one I have gotten from SI since I started using Volts last July or August that was like that. I figure once in a while you get a 'dud'. You would have gotten 5 cartos, but you only mention one. Did you try the others?

Also, have you contacted SI and begun a discussion with them about your issues? If you email them on their website someone in customer service will contact you and see if they can resolve any problems you're having with the products.

Hey guys. Quick question about my volt carrying case.

I'll get right to the point - it stinks! Literally!

Any ideas on airing it out? I put a carto and battery in it and they now both smell like off-gassed petroleum products.

OMG! I thought it was just ME!! ha ha that is to funny. I put it up to my husbands nose and asked if it stunk. He said it smelled like feet. LOL I let it sit over night open and this morning it wasn't so bad. I had thought about putting one of my stronger fruit juices in it and let it sit over night. It couldn't hurt. LOL

Stacey, I'd really appreciate hearing how this goes. Does the smell dissipate? I want to get a carrying case, but not if it's going to stink up the contents. I'd be patient if airing it out for some time seems to help. Or if you think of another way of deodorizing it, please let me know. Anyone else besides Cloudshroud have this problem, too? Any solutions?

Thanks.

Yes that was a fresh carto. I filled it last night, tried to vape using it this morning. I'm using Virgin Vapor, 100% VG. I have used this same liquid (same bottle) in a friend's carto by another supposedly similar company (begin's with a b) without issue. An 80/20 pg/vg is also giving me problems in another carto, not much flavor and burnt taste.

My guess was my cartos weren't wicking well. Why, I don't know. Took one apart and I guess jumped to a conclusion, I just realized I am going through pretty strong nicotine withdrawal, so I'm very irritatable

marlou, no I haven't contacted SI yet, wanted to ask here first. I want to note: My other problems were mechanical, and SI took care of them promptly without issue.
