I have to agree. Since all the fuss over 555 and learning I could store the opened cartos with some expectation of using them later, I broke open the 555. No comparison! I like that warm taste of the Ry4. So I dug out the Desert Joe and see how it compares. It's very similar to the 555, though I can taste a difference. So far, Ry4 is my fave. Because I liked the coffee flavor in the disposables I first bought, I just tried the cappuccino. Yes, it's good, but I still like the RY4 best. Does anyone care? Is this info about my personal preferences useful?

I often wonder if we could set up some kind of taste priority for beginners. You know, like if they don't know what to try first. Has anyone done a taste assessment? For instance, does what you like in e-cig flavors have anything to do with what you smoked in analogs? I notice a lot of folks have smoked menthol analogs. Does that make them want a mint flavor more? Has anyone studied this or at least drawn some conclusions? Has anyone taken a poll of at least SI's favorite flavors? If not, what say we do it.

Great ideas! I used to smoke menthols but like someone else said, once I got into vaping I went wild trying dessert flavors first, lol. As for reviewing the Volt cartos, I did a couple of video reviews on them. Of course, taste is so subjective.

omg I nearly fainted when I read this . Desert Joe is NOTHING like 555! Maybe you got ahold of a bad 555 carto or something. DJ and it's Kamel counterpart are my least favorite -- I can't even force myself to finish a carto . And I'm a big time 555 lover .

And that just goes to show you that taste is subjective. You ask 50 people what the priority would be and you'll get 50 different answers, which doesn't help a newbie. What one person swears by the next person can't stand. I always recommend doing the sampler packs and they'll discover which one floats their boat regardless of what anyone recommended - might end up being Cherry or some other flavor that I found disgusting.

However an informal poll would be fun/interesting to see how everyone ranks them.

Does anyone agree that the 555 cartridge scent is very strong. I put the smooth sampler pack in my bag with the 555 cartridge opened in the foiled holder and my whole bag smelled like the 555. Sort of a nutty hazelnut smell. A bit overpowering for me and it stays on your fingers after using. Overall with the limited range I've tried, I like the Desert Joe the most as a analogue production flavor as it seems to have the most flavor, all the other analogue flavors just seem to sweet to reproduce an analogue. What I never expected was to enjoy the cappuccino and chocolate flavors so much. I have not tried any fruit/sweeter flavors yet. Off topic, but are there any New York city groups into vaping?

555 definitely has a strong scent. As for NY groups, if you start on the home page and go to Community then Social Groups you can find Location Specific forums that sometimes get together - here's a link: Location Specific

I just felt like I HAVE to give props to SmokelessImage for all the help with ordering for my sister. She is just now trying to get in to vaping, has a very very stressfull career and NO time for online shopping/education/forum review. Sixteen hour days just don't leave much time for that. She considers me the family expert and asked me to shop for her and order whatever she would need to get a good start. I have been vaping for over 3 years and at least know how to find the devices and some good juices and accessories for her.

I opened an account for her on SI, and filled her cart up really good, then sent her the link, her login and password, and she was able to complete the order today, all with no stress and from 350 miles away.

Online chat was big help and it was great that the cart saved for sis to return later. As she needs more supplies, I can continue to shop for her if needed.

Great service and I know she will love the device and flavors, or at least find some out of the selections I ordered for her, and after she gets accustomed to the device, she can explore the flavors. The Mega PCCs I got her will be a great benefit as she is out of the house and on the road early to late. Will be getting her a couple of passthroughs once they are back in stock. One for vehicle, one for office, and maybe another for home. She gets her mind into her work and clients and does not always remember to take what she needs daily, so having backups everywhere will really be a help.

update added: Talked to her this morning, she was in deposition but took my call, she is so excited to receive her order that she upgraded to Express Shipping, my it must be nice to be able to afford that, but it's worth it to her. I am sending her some links to some great video reviews to maybe look at this weekend, so she will know what she has when she opens that great package !

Yes, I finally did. I've been using it last night/today and it works just fine. I have yet to try the cartos.

Yep. Customers wanted something that looks as much like an analog as possible, for vaping on customer's property when they are working without raising suspicions of smoking something 'else'.

As for what I've actually ordered more of - Desert Joe, Ice Menthol, and Watermelon. Before these new e-liquids, I bought original grape and original watermelon.

I drove out and picked up my volt on tuesday...man i love this thing!!
SI is so easy to work with...great customer service!

I picked up 2 shorty batts and 1 78mm manual. Unfortunately, i was there the *day* before the new PCC came in. Ah well.
As of monday i was a 1 PAD smoker...since i got my volt, i havent had more than 4 in one day

I bought a ton of cartos while i was there, and a few of Altsmoke's juices. My favorites so far are:

1. 555 (resembles the analogs more than any other ive tried...i LOVE it)
2. Watermelon (whoda' thunk...its awesome)
3. Altsmoke's Frost Apple (bought at the retail store when Tyler let me try his...zomg i am in love...its kinda menthol-ish, amazing throat hit...just...yum)
4. RY4

I like most of them, but thats my top list...
I also got a bottle of strawberry from altsmoke...i vaped about half a vanilla carto then topped it off with strawberry...its so good!

Thanks, everyone who weighed in on their favorites so far. Can you tell me if you smoked menthol or regular analogs? I think that might be an important factor in taste preferences on the SI flavors. I hope more people will list their preferences so we have a good sampling. I'll collect the info and tell you all what I found out. I think this will be fun & interesting.

Desert joe and cowboy have a taste/smell that I dont care for, i recognized it from other popular tobacco juices, so its just a thing I don't care for..possibly the 'turkish'-ness idk
I had found my go to juices before I got the Volt, but I do luve the pre filled cartos.
Chocolate and vanilla are good but mild IMO, but I still have damaged taste buds. (quit dates are important in flavor opinions)
I like grape, it has a surprisingly strong th.
I have the rest of my sweet sampler to try...i think watermelon will be next.

I wish my comments could be positive, however, I just got a Volt yesterday and my battery does not seem to be holding a good charge for very long, and I alternate between it and 2 other batts. Sent an email to SI customer service so am waiting to hear back from them. Any suggestions...?

One thing to keep in mind other than how subjective taste is.....once you quite smoking, your tastebuds change. What you don't like now, you may very well like later...and vice versa. As for menthol vs non-menthol....there is no key there unfortunately. Hubby and I both were non menthol smokers....I like the dessert vapes and 555 and RY4....hubby likes nothing but the fruits. Other former menthol smokers I know like menthol and some other tobacco flavors that are non menthol. I also know former non-menthol smokers that like the menthols and mints....it's all very very personal and over time, favorites change.

It is fun however to see who all likes what, just be careful trying to make a scientific kinda conclusion to it, or trying to base what you will try based on it.
